Good afternoon.
Joe, I'm glad yesterday was better for you. Hope you have a good day today as well.
My insomnia trait of waking up after a few hours and not being able to go to sleep hit me. I slept about 4 hours and struggled. So I got up for a while and then about 3 hours later went back to sleep for a few more hours. A vicious cycle.
Anyway, it's hot and muggy here and is going to rain later. Not expecting anything much out of myself today. LOL
Good Afternoon~
I slept pretty good last night, except I do the same thing of waking up after a couple of hours, reading a while and then going back to sleep. I woke up at noon with my hips, knees, and wrists aching. Not full blown gypsies, but still quite uncomfortable. Decided I'd wait for Chatty CG to arrive and let her get Nannie up. She called me and said she'd be about 20-30 minutes late, but she's on her way. She said her husband used her car last night and returned it practically empty of gas, plus she couldn't find her keys for a while (which turned out to be in the pocket of the jeans he'd put in the dirty clothes hamper.)
THEN when she got here, she said she had stayed up until 3:30 AM watching 10 streaming episodes of something.....the plot of which she filled me in on ... in toto! I didn't care, except I thought I'd let her run down, but she didn't! I was finally saved by her phone ringing; then she had a great L-O-N-G conversation with some relative, about finances and who was going to pay what and how much, etc. I took that as my cue to go upstairs to the kitchen where I had three days worth of dishes waiting in the sink...ugh. So at least THAT is done!
Anyway, I read somewhere that you can clean Tupperware by filling it with hot water and dropping a denture cleaning tablet in, so I am trying that on the several Tupperware containers SiL had brought over, which had tomato sauce stains. We'll see if it helps. I tried the highly touted spray-foam dish detergent, but it didn't remove the stains and it still left the containers feeling greasy, so maybe the denture tabs will help. I'll let you know.
I am up in my room....I made the bed and I am sitting up leaning against a pile of many pillows,. Momo just came running up to join me. I checked my brain/list and there is absolutely no reason for me to go out and about today, thank goodness. After I get a few bills paid, I will have to be cautious with my spending until next month. Same old same old, doncha know!
I am waiting for the meds to ease off the aches and pains, then I may put away another batch of washed, dried, and folded laundry. But it is 3 PM and I still have zero OOOMPH. I do believe this will be my day of rest.
I'm starting to have more dreams and I wish I could remember them, as it seems there's the usual repetitious activity each night, but also something that seems important during the dream, I mean, whatever it is, it's more pronounced, and I dunno ....'louder'? Well I guess I will wait until it comes clear to me, whenever that might be. When I was in therapy I kept track of all my detailed dreams and somewhere have the 15 notebooks I filled during those times. It was QUITE interesting how they weaved into my daily life and the therapy, and gave me helpful clues as to what I was dealing with at the time. (Not that I can't figure out some of the stuff going on inside my head currently!)
Okay, I guess I will go scan the newsfeed, and MAYBE even doze a short while.
Laydah, y'all!
Yo. It's been a mild day here. Was a rather chilly 42 this morning. Leaves are really changing color now, and starting to fall. I mowed the lawn. Hopefully with the cooler weather it will stop growing. I been decluttering, cleaned up the kitchen, cooked some carrots from the garden for the dogs. They are wormy, and I don't care to spend the time to cut all that out of the carrots, but the dogs don't mind.
dh had his cardiology visit yesterday, and as I suspected, has an echo and myoview (stress test) ordered. He had one small abnormality on his EKG. Could be a normal variant, could indicate some disease. He gets a little huffy/puffy with activity, but I think that is related to his weight.
Stars, that would make sense that denture tablets would work. They have baking soda, peroxide and bleach in them.
I've been waking up intermittently with tingly hands, like they are going to sleep. I must be laying on them or hyper flexing them. It's annoying.
So, nah, the denture tablets did nothing for the Tupperware type containers. But, it does clean out the coffee/tea build-up in a coffee cup and a sippy-cup. Live and learn. Tomato sauce is insidious. SiL said she just tosses the Tupperware out if it looks awful.
OK, we are watching House Hunters International; funny how some of the Americans looking for a house or apartment seem to expect the same kind of decorating standards as in America. Like open-concept, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, washer/dryer, outdoor space, etc. Lots of the living spaces over in Sweden, Germany, Thailand, are sooooo small, with tiny bedrooms, odd bathrooms, and just plain weird kitchens! So, naturally the couples are trying NOT to freak out about what there ISN'T, and if they have a dog or a young kid, uh-oh, the mothers want the washer/dryer and dish washer and most of all.......that fenced yard! Lots of folks bumping into the reality of life OUT of these-here United States!
Eeeeny-waizzzz, there are 35 minutes until Nannie's bedtime!
Hello all!
Well, I had quite an interesting web search for "how to get tomato sauce stains out of Tupperware!" People tout all sorts of cures for the staining! Seems if the H202 concoction didn't work, you may not have a lot of other answers. Either put up with it or toss it.
I slept OK last night - 5.5 hours. Got up at 8 with dh, and we got ready then caught Lulu to put her in a crate for the trip to the vet's office. *AHEM* She had other ideas, and wrenched herself from my grasp, giving me several puncture wounds as she careened away, to hide under the bed. We got her out from under the bed, and then dh cornered her and she allowed him to pick her up and we placed her in the crate. All the way there she was very vocal about how she felt about the whole situation! She is our most vocal cat, so this was not surprising to us. We warned the vet and his helpers that she may act up, being the scaredy-cat that she is. They knew how to handle her, and he performed the exam and questioned us about symptoms. Then he gave us the choice of a long-term, one-injection Abx, or a series of daily pills or liquid meds. We chose the one-time injection, as we are not sure she would allow us to medicate her orally. He was OK with that, and gave her the injection.
She was pretty quiet on the way home, and happy to be home. She has since come up to us both for petting and attention, and seems to have recovered from the travel trauma. Dh reports she used the litter box at least once, since she has been home, and it was a "normal" amount of urine, not just a little trickle. There was no yowling when she peed, either. So, fingers crossed that the issue is DONE.
I picked up a few groceries in the afternoon, and made a new recipe: Pumpkin Chili! Yes, that's right! It has no beans, but the pumpkin puree is added to the browned burger and spices and tomatoes and bell peppers and onions. It was DELICIOUS! Dh is not real fond of beans, though he likes the lentil dishes I have made. And I knew he liked chili, so I thought I would try this bean-less recipe. It is a keeper, for sure! I used vegetarian burger (Morning Star) in place of real burger. I will be making it again!
Tonight I need to clean litter boxes, but I have no other duties waiting on me.
Have a good evening!
