Tweety hope you hear something from insurance one way or another soon

NJ22 glad that he won't need a heart cath and just needs conservative management

Dianah I try to do that regularly, getting rid of of clothes

Stars I hope the caregiver shows up today

Work was a bit of a killer yesterday, 2 new cases and was on hold for 45 minutes trying to get one patient some post discharge home health.  But at least today there was not a ton of documents or emails which helped, and I did get everything planned done.  Though the home health situation isn't quite resolved yet.  Did a pretty good job staying calm despite all of it

Cat was trying to cause me stress too, eating relatively little, vomiting multiple times an experiencing diarrhea too.  Thankfully today it seems to have all settled down.  Seems like once she vomits a large hairball her digestive system is disrupted for 24 hours or so.  Will have to see what else I can do to prevent them

Today, like yesterday, nothing unusual planned, and hopefully work will be calmer too

Will be a bit warmer today, in the mid 50s, rain should stop this morning

5 minutes after 12 noon....and it is NOT POURING DOWN rain like we were told last night was going to happen today. But the day isn't over yet. It is all of 52 degrees as a high. So far I have not rec'd any calls about CG, so maybe I can assume she will show up? I sure hope so! I plan on hole-ing up in my room this afternoon, and hoping to get a few things done that have been weighing on my mind. Right now I am going to go down to the kitchen and wash a few dishes to get that out of the way. I am hoping Nannie stays in bed until CG arrives, so SHE can get Nannie up and dressed. I will get the breakfast tray set up and then let CG take over. If Nannie wanders out of her room before CG gets here, I will have to get her washed and dressed, but we'll see how it goes in the next 45 minutes.

All for now.....

Nope, yup~

Nannie was up in the chair when I went downstairs. I gave her the AM meds and breakfast, then got her up to the bathroom for a quick wash-up and to get her dressed. Naturally when I was at the conclusion of the dressing her, CG arrived (late).

Today's chatting was about how CG's husband wasn't feeling well at all last weekend, and she said she thought he was having all the S+S of diabetes. He said "What? You're nuts. You don't know what you're talking about." (even though four people in her family have diabetes)  But when she called the doc's office, Monday morning, they said for him to stay fasting, and to come in to see the doc at 2 PM. She went with him, and the doc did a bunch of blood tests, and sure enough....his A1C was 7-point-something and his blood sugar was over 400. They did not hospitalize him, although he was also quite dehydrated; but sent them to the pharmacy to get some metformin and something else, which he was to take right away, and then take 2x/day. So far he has been following the diet and she's been making sure he eats what he needs to and doesn't eat what he should not have. And they are also going to walk a 2 mile loop every afternoon or evening. Can you believe the doc's office did NOT give them any of the handouts to explain things and the diet changes recommended! I may still have some of hubby's handouts ....colorful and making things easy to follow; so if I find them, I will give them to her.

I realized I was almost out of coffee, and cussed a little, but then I found the box of "DEATH WISH" Coffee ("curiously strong coffee", so it says on the package.).  I had purchased it on a whim several months ago. But, it is just a medium-roast, and it is not really terribly strong.....well, because I put sugar in my coffee and that alters the bitterness, so it'll do for now.

Anyway, sooooo, I still plan on staying IN today and NOT doing any errands. Also because it has actually started raining like it means it!

Momo and I are up in our room now. When I get through with my coffee, I am going to get up and do SOMETHING.....it's not like I LACK anything to keep me busy up here!

Up and away, Junior Birdmen!

I had big plans last night of watching another episode or two of Call the Midwife. But I didn't. Went to choir practice, took a shower, and then... nada. Oh, I did fold a couple loads of laundry. I guess that counts.

Hubs and I talked to the financial planner because I can't find an extra $850/mo for stepson's rent until the government decides he's really disabled and he can get disability. It was kind of depressing. Back to trying to clear out those storage units, I guess. Maybe I will pause contributions to my 403(b) but that still won't amount to that much. We need to not only trim the fat but trim some of the lean, too, I guess.

Joe, I hope your day is less busy/complicated today.

Hello all,

Ado, I hope you can rearrange/juggle the finances to meet your and stepson's needs.  And, folding clothes counts as SOMETHING done!  Good on ya!

No Stars, I'm SO glad CG showed up and you get some afternoon relief.  Nice to have the rain (as long as nothing is leaking).

Joe, it would be nice to have a steady, daily workload rather than some days being WILD AND CRAZY!  Good for you, staying calm.  I hope your cat's GI issues settle down, since the hairball appeared.

Dh and I got up a little early, and packed the instruments and took off for Riverside area, to a house jam.  The jam is a long weekend campout on their ranch property; we were just going for the day.  We haven't been to this house before, but we had a map and the address.  Well, the one-hour drive over went well, but then we drove up and down dirt or gravel roads, for an hour, searching for the address.  Then I went back to the man's FB page, and double-checked the addy: yes, I had it correct.  But there was NOTHING there, at that address!  So I looked back on FB, to where he'd posted about holding a similar campout and jam in June, and BY CRACKY, THAT address was different!  So we drove back to it, and --- there was a locked gate!  We rang the bell several times, but only got a recording (why would they hold a jam but have a locked gate so no one could get in?).  We were able to see the property, and there were half a dozen motorhomes parked in front of the house.  And, I could faintly hear music coming from that area.  I thought I might be able to climb over a chain-link fence, but I declined to do so, as I didn't know if there was a dog loose for protection (and I didn't want to get bit/attacked).  So, we tossed around a few ideas, rejected them all, and then just headed home.

Meanwhile, I messaged the man about the address discrepancy, and that the gate was closed.  AND, our bass player texted me -- with the gate code!  I had called him X4, and each time it went to VM.  He'd been out of reach with the phone, and his wife's car had broken down, so he had to deal with that (she is fine).

After we got home, the man who owned the property messaged me back -- he had corrected the address in the post, and asked "Are you in?"  I told him we'd gone back home, will try again!  Dh and I may try again tomorrow (that's another day when our bass player will be there, so we can play with him) -- weather permitting.  Today was to be 74 degrees.  Tomorrow might reach 60, which is a little cool for us (keeping fingers out to play the instruments).  We'll see.  Anyway, that's our travel saga!  The cats were glad to see us when we got home, LOL!

Have a good afternoon/evening!

Wow, Dianah, you gave it your all, didn't you? I hope tomorrow works out for you and your dh.

Joe, you seem to be handling the pressure well. Poor kitty.

Stars, I hope your day is going well.

Annie. I've agree, folding clothes counts. $850 a month is a chunk of change to find.

I had my eye appointment, and although anxious, I did not get panicked.  2 eye scans, refraction, glaucoma check. They had me hold a thing that looked like an ice cream scoop with a hole in up to my eye to read the eye chart. When she turned it on, it cast a bright light around my eye. All is well, return in a year. And I got a new eye glass prescription. I did not go eye glass shopping, because my tummy gets upset from the eye dilation. I walked the dogs, took a nap, and now I'm going to the gym because my eyes finally feel somewhat normal.
