Good morning. The sun is up, and after a frosty morning the temp is going to be in the mid 50s. I am going to sis's house to do some garden clean up, and we'll likely go to lunch. I did some gardening yesterday--weeding and fertilizing the blueberries, and more rose pruning. We went to grandson's band concert last night, then stopped for a bite to eat. dh was going to go Seattle to have lunch with an old friend, the friend has been ill.
dh and I go round and round about salt. I've add very little when cooking, and he grabs the salt shaker before he even tastes food. He even salts green salad. I've been watching YouTube videos done by 2 surgeons from Canada, called Talking with Docs. They have a cardiologist on sometimes, and he says not everyone gets hypertensive from salt. I enjoy their videos.
I do enjoy a good creme brûlée , but I've had some bad ones, too. The bad ones are cold and you can tell the top was browned hours earlier and not crunchy. Or burnt. Yuck.
I had a voicemail message this morning from Amazon. When I listened to it, it said I had ordered something upwards of $200. I could not access them through the voicemail message. I tried calling them but they can't find any orders from my phone # or my email address. I can't find anything that has an Amazon acct # on it, and I certainly don't know a password. I so seldom order through them, and especially not lately! They sure don't make things easy to get anything resolved. This really pizzez me off in a big way. If I get a package delivered, I have no idea what it would be, but I could return it, and if it goes to a different address, as in someone has stolen my info, I don't know WTH to do. I'd cancel the order but they don't seem to be able to help me without any info I've given them. FRUSTRATING!
What a way to start a day!
It is supposed to be 81 degrees today! YIKES!
SiL is coming over around 3:30 PM, so I am going to gather my stuff together so I can leave immediately after she gets here. I wanted to go to several places, but I can blow some of them off until another day. An hour and a half isn't near enough time to get done what I had planned on doing. More frustration. But I do need to drop off that collection company letter to the lawyers office, and resupply a few grocery items which I did not get enough of the other day.
This Amazon thing has me churning in my brain; I wish they wouldn't make it so difficult to talk to someone who can actually HELP with the problem. RATZ! All I know is they better not charge me for anything! I could cancel the whole entire Amazon acct but they couldn't help me with that either. Whaddam I gonna do? CRAP!
All for now, and it's quite enough!
SiL arrived 1/2 hr late. 😕
I did get to the lawyers office before they closed, but the receptionist said I could just throw out the collection agency letter. I said the lawyer had told me he could send them a letter to 'cease and desist', but the receptionist said he could do that, but it might not stop them from trying to make contact about this. The only 'estate' I have is a car that won't be paid off until 2025, and they can't have that! I was told just to throw anything about the hospitalization OUT and don't worry about it. Oooo-kay, then.
SiL said, as I was leaving, that she would give Nannie a shower, change her clothes, and then take Nannie over to her house for supper. I haven't looked in the bathroom yet, but I'll bet there's some Nannie's laundry in there to do. Yippee-kiyay.
They will probably be bringing Nannie home soon. Ppfftt.

Sounds like a scam to me, I often get scam emails telling me about orders from various companies, usually I find them in my junk email folder
Yes, SiL said the same thing about the Amazon message, it's a scam, and don't worry about it. Now that I think about it, they never did call me, the phone didn't ring, but they only left a message.
Nannie came back an hour ago, and just now she wanted to get up and fix her hair....I told her that SiL had already fixed her hair earlier today. Then 5 min. later she had the chair remote and was getting up. This time she said she wanted to go to bed. I asked her if she had to go to the bathroom, and she said no, but when we got to the bedroom door, I said, Are you SURE you don't have to go to the bathroom? She decided she had to pee, so we got that taken care of and now she is in bed. I told her not to do like she did last time and get up after she's been in bed 5 or 10 minutes...........yeh, like she'll even remember that. I hope to jeepers she DOESN'T get up again!
Hoping to jeepers did not work.....she got up right as I was finishing the ^ last sentence. This time, she wanted a drink of water, so I pointed her to her bathroom; I went up to get the bedtime pill for her to take. NOW, I am PRAYING she does not get up again. If she does, I might feel like shrieking.
[*fingers crossed*]
Articles are saying Amazon scam calls are on the rise. Never talk to anyone that claims they are from Amazon and don't call them back. If I get a call or email about Amazon I go to my account and it's always okay.
j22, if your husband doesn't have high blood pressure guess he shouldn't worry. I've heard that too that some people aren't affected by salt. But some people aren't affected by cigarettes either. My doc says stay under 2 gms which seems relatively easy and see if it makes a difference. I probably for the most, part except when I travel, stay under that already. My brother found out he had high blood pressure from a dentist that refused to work on him with his blood pressure. He salted the hell out of everything before tasting it. Then cut out salt completely and he said he's fine without medication. For me weight also is an issue in my BP as well as anxiety, sleep deprivation and stress.
Didn't sleep good in the early morning and eventually just got up at 4:30AM.
Worked today....they pulled a nurse at 11:00 to cover a family emergency that apparently was legit and causing the nurse distress and she had to go.
My mother used to tell a story about Mr. J.C. Penney. The story goes that when he interviewed potential employees he would take them to lunch and if they salted their food before tasting it he wouldn't hire them because that was mindkess/thoughtless. I'm not absolutely sure what the moral of that story was meant to be but I do taste my food first. 😆
My latest doctor, who I've seen just a few times, always asks if I'm drinking plenty of water and watching sodium. I'm not especially careful about sodium but maybe should be more so. I do get some lower extremity edema but then I also take an ACEI so who knows.
Since today is Pi Day we had chicken pot pie (and key lime pie) for dinner.
Hubs and his mom had a big stand-off at bedtime last night. She was being defiant. He figured he could wait her out. Or at least wait until the meds kicked in, which eventually worked. That was 50 mg of PO seroquel plus some topical haldol.
I really miss playing my piano but it's in the living room where Twin B sleeps (usually during the day) and Hubs watches TV. My parents had a digital piano in their later years. You could put in ear buds and no one else had to hear you play. I let my nephew have that piano since I had an acoustic piano. But I rarely get a chance to play. It needs a good tuning, too.

Tweety I try to monitor sodium too, even some supposedly healthy recipes have a lot of sodium
Dianah I've had that same experience, I've taken to turning my alarm clock around so if I do wake up I don't see what time it is and don't get nervous about it
Stars good that you're making progress getting rid of stuff, even if it's slow going
Ado that sounds like a nice evening
Work ended up being busy yesterday, someone on another team was off and the person covering for her called in sick, so I had some extra work to do. Cut lunch short but was able to get everything done by the end of the day. Hopefully today will be a little quieter
After work did the grocery shopping and stopped at the library. Also stopped by the health food store, wanted to see if they had some slippery elm lozenges but they only had it in powder form. I seem to remember singers liking slippery elm lozenges for sore throats
Today have counseling during lunch but otherwise should be a normal day. Have tomorrow off so it's my Friday
Going to be stormy most of the day, and a bit cooler, up to 60
