Depending on what forecast you look at, we either have a 76% chance of rain, or an 85% chance of rain. However, looking out the window pretty much ALL day, I can tell rain is actually a 100% REALITY, with no 'chance' to it!
SiL messaged me at noon that Chatty CG will not be coming today. I messaged her back that I suspected as much, since my phone has been blowing up with SEVERE WEATHER WARNINGS......the FIRST one was at 5 AM, And then every 2 hours after that!
Now that I have Nannie up, I have elected to do NADA today! I told Nannie she'd better make up her mind that today will be a LONG, BORING day! Fortunately, again, the pharmacy's 1/2 Lexapro for this AM was a fat half, so she has been snoozing very nicely.
Earlier, when I was lolling in bed before getting up, I heard several weird sounds outside. I thought maybe a branch had landed on the roof, but when I checked, it wasn't on the house's roof. Much later, I looked out in the back yard and witnessed a smallish tree (which looks like a bigger trees' limb, but isn't) fall over on the side of the shed, and then it extended out to half-way across the yard! And that was with NO wind blowing! To be fair, it was a top-heavy small tree with some of its roots already exposed and it was somewhat rotted, so the fall was inevitable, especially with such a soaking wet ground.
OH! Geez. now that I think of it. I probably should have turned on the dehumidifier about 12 hours ago. I haven't even checked in that corner to see if the towel-pile is wet; I bet it is, which means into the washer they will go, and a fresh stack of towels to replace them in that corner. I prolly ort to take care of that NOW! //// Yup, every towel was saturated, so I put them in a plastic wastebasket to transfer them to the washer, so I wouldn't also have to mop the drips off the floor between the corner and the washer. Imagine my surprise to find an already washed load from yesterday waiting to be put in the dryer! So much for doing NADA! I stuck the wash into the dryer, and put the wet towels on spin, in the washer. I will dry them later, without washing them, because they will probably be put to use again as an absorbent barrier. Not sure when this storm (which turned into the Atlantic before it turned BACK into the Carolinas) will cease and desist!
Amazingly enough, Nannie did not wake up while I was doing the back-and-forth with the towels, nor did turning the dehumidifier on high wake her up. In 45 minutes I will turn the local news on and maybe the TV will wake her up. It'll be time for her supper by then, anyway. (I ate a piece of leftover pizza, reheated, a while ago, as my brunch.)
My bro in CA commented on-line that "Debby didn't do Dallas today." Har-dee-har-har! Only a joke those of a certain age would understand.
Okay, enough is enough. Hope all the fur babies are well, as I wish the same for the fur-baby's parents.
It is a very pleasant 80 degrees here, sl. hazy as some wildfire smoke is moving down from Canada. As I feared, dh and ds had a big shouting match just before we got home. Apparently, dh had wanted to drive up the coast which would have taken a lot longer, but didn't say anything, just sat and stewed about it. Then blew up when I said something about being glad to get home before sundown.
Today seems like all is calm. I slept 11 hours last night. Ahhh. Trailer is unpacked, mostly, the washer and dryer are humming, dogs seem very happy. The garden looks good, some tomatoes are ripe, and some broccoli is ready. I ate a carrot, and it was tasty. The green beans will be ready in a few days.
Joe, I hope your kitty continues to be vomit free.
Stars, is that the remnants of Debbie soaking your area?
Another 100+ day here. My poor little garden never had much chance. I guess there's always next year.
I hope the tree blowing over didn't create big problems, Stars.
We are hum-drum around here.
Sorry you had the tensions blow up with the family, J22. Ugh. Hopefully it was still a good trip overall.
G'day!
I saw a meme "Debbie is no longer doing Dallas, she's doing Florida". Gen X/Boomer joke. Ugh.
Joe, hope the cat is okay.
I took my meds, including my benzo which I don't take every night, and woke up only once that was one minute before my alarm. First decent night in several days.
I worked the floor today and naturally had a rough day. We were short a tech and I got lunch at 4pm and had an hour long rapid response with a patient having neurological changes. Off to the neuro unit she goes. Med Surg sucks but my patient was fortunate I caught her changes. Don't ever knock a med surg nurse, we work our butts off and make a difference. Bleh
Found out the 2nd twin of my junior high and high school twin best friends died the other day. His sister told me wasn't found for five days and had five cats with him. The first one died four years ago and we were friends longer. I lost tract of Twin 2 after high school. They were born the same day as me a year earlier. So he was 66 when he died. Sad.
His sister told me she's the last of their family. She lost her dad and mother and both her brothers.
Off the weekend.

Tweety hope you sleep better tonight
NJ22 thanks for sharing the pictures
Stars the irritability is understandable, you do need a life of your own
Dianah the vet thinks either her hyperthyroidism is acting up or she is in some sort of "vomiting cycle"
Ado respite care seems like a good idea
Work was pretty good yesterday, despite getting a new case. Got another new one later in the day but today looks fairly quiet so I held off on that one
Lunch hour was spent at the vet's. Nothing really wrong, exam and X-rays all negative. Will get results of blood work today, in case her hyperthyroidism has gotten worse. She got an anti nausea shot yesterday, so far it appears to be working. He said the shot could interrupt the vomiting cycle she seems to be in, or she might need her thyroid medications adjusted
Finished the pain management CEU I needed for my MI license, no more CEUs needed this year, will focus on renewing the certification and the various licenses
Today meeting my church friend Denise for dinner, we had planned to do this weeks ago but due to several health issues and storm damage to her home we've had to repeatedly delay
Will be a bit warmer today, think up to the mid 80s
