Good morning. We are headed home. The mountain was pretty socked in so we decided against any more hiking today. Yesterday turned out nice and the clouds finally parted. We saw beautiful wild flowers, lots of chipmunks, ground squirrels and marmots. A first for me at this park was ptarmigans. We had our usual Rainier beer at Rainier and poked around the visitor center. We had a delicious dinner of Nepalese food at a local place, owned by a former Sherpa. So good!
nursej22, SO BEAUTIFUL!! Thank you for the photos! Too bad you are leaving there. I'll bet there will be more times there in the future!
Joe, I have seen signs at restaurants such as "Parties over 8 persons will be charged a 20% [or whatever] standard gratuity."
I had lots of restless legs last night. Didn't think I would, having walked 2.5 miles with S, but I think eating so late (after getting home at 8:30) made a difference. Perhaps eat more lightly if I'm going to eat later. So, as I tried not to keep checking the clock, I have no idea how long I slept but I know it wasn't enough! I was up to get ready and drive 40 min to pick up the cat's thyroid meds (they don't mail them out). Am home for a bit, then dh and I will drive to Corona to meet friend P, who has an appt with a CD Duplicating business. We are moral support! We'll see what they say and how the process goes. We'd like it in a week (to take to the festival), but don't know if that is possible. So many little pieces have to be just so before the CDs may be replicated. We'll see.
Maybe I can lie down for 30 min or so...
Have a good day!
So far this has been a good day. I slept until 11 AM; hubby said that around 7:30 AM the bottom fell out of the sky and there was heavy rains, loud and boisterous thunder booming, and sharp lightening flashing frequently, for about an hour or so. I missed it all....didn't hear a thing!
More elevating of left knee, which still looks puffy and sometimes feels horrible. Guess if it doesn't start getting better, I will have to go to a doc and get it x-rayed. Phooey. They better not tell me I need surgery!
I have my re-scheduled appt w/ the counseling doc tomorrow AM; have yet to do any 'homework', per se, but OH WELL! It has been a tough week. At least hubby helps by giving me the hot-water bottle and then ice packs. He also has to bring the trash bins out to the end of the driveway for AM pick up. I gathered all the trash from inside the house when I was up a few times. Now it is time to put laundry into the dryer. I told Nannie (before she conked out sleeping in her recliner) that I was not going to wash her bedsheets and blankets every day. I have peeled the layers back and put the ceiling fan on high, to help dry her pee-stains by bedtime. She automatically makes her bed when she gets up at any point during the night.? And rests on top of the bed for the rest of the night.
I told hubby not to harrass Nannie today to make her stay awake this afternoon. I'd just as soon she sleeps as much as possible regardless of the time of day. Later I'll wake her up and ask if she'll eat some supper. It's not like her weight will just 'fall off', if all she gets for supper is yogurt and her meds. I am just enjoying the fact that the two Mouths-Of-The-South aren't issuing dueling arguing commentary this afternoon.
Gorgeous pix, j22!
Successful trip to the Vet's office to pick up Toby's thyroid medication! Then I was able to lie down for about 30 min, while dh got ready. Then we left for a 45 min drive to the CD Replicating business, met P there. She and dh seemed satisfied with the process at this place, so now she must gather the artwork person and have him put the artwork in the chosen template, and also get the Sound Tech to pass the digital copy of the completed Master, to the Duplicating business. I think we may see results in a month! So excited for P!
So, we stopped at a Mexican food restaurant on our way home, and as we have eaten, we just got home. Quiet evening tonight (dh may take a nap).
Have a good evening!

Tweety hope you sleep better tonight
Dianah the owner did not specify, he just said our group had to adhere to this rule. I'm assuming this applies to any group that meets there
NJ22 thanks for the pictures
Stars sorry your knee is acting up, and the rest of the family. It's a shame she's driven away the rest of her family
Work was not that bad yesterday, but it seemed, especially in the afternoon, that things that should have been quick took a lot longer than they should have an involved various complications. Hope today is more straightforward
Did laundry during lunch, then after work did the grocery shopping and exercised
Today have counseling during lunch, then after work will make the bacon wrapped dates for the potluck tomorrow. Also have to call ACCM, I was trying to do some CEUs over the weekend but couldn't log in. I emailed them but haven't heard from them yet
Weather is pretty much the same, mid 80s with no rain expected
