Happy Anniversary, dianah! 48th! Wow! We don't do a big celebration either, just exchange cards and I get some flowers. Our 34th will be in December.
Braves won again last night. Tonight's game doesn't start until 10:10 PM! We will be playing the Dodgers, but WE won't be staying up to watch the whole game. I plan on putting Nannie to bed at 10 PM.
Today's plans are: do some more laundry, find my car papers that say I have had my inspection done, and oil changed ( I had those done at Valvoline), then call for an appt at the dealership, for the stupid 'low tire' light coming on again. I also have to call Nannie's insurance company and tell them to take the RV and boat off the coverage, as they have not been here for at least 7 years. The 'POA' has gone back to bed so I hope they don't need to talk with him to take those things off the bill.
I have gathered the laundry, and have to collect the trash and recycling to go out on the curb tonight. Maybe I will resume the shredding today, as well.
Today is sunny, 84 degrees with a 'feels like' of 84 degrees! But the humidity is something stupid like 67 degrees. Once again 'they' say 6 days without any precipitation; we'll see about that.
Have to go get Nannie OOB in a short while. Probably at some point I will begin to fill out the daycare application forms. And do the dishes that still sit in the sink. What another exciting day!
Welp, I got maybe 1/4 of the shredding done and then I had to stop to let the shredder cool off! Hubby has just promised he'd do the dishes. But, he just went out to 'the shopping center' for more vodka, so who knows if the dishes will get done today or not! Have to start the laundry now....and begin filling out the daycare application. I REALLY should make some of those phone calls I need to make, but the hour grows late, and it will soon be closing time for the places I need to contact. Maybe I will get up at a reasonable hour tomorrow and start in on the calls then. We'll see what we see when we see it, eh?!
Congrats on getting your shredding done, No Stars!
I accompanied dh to his preop appt, then we decided to take ourselves to lunch at our favorite Thai food place. It was yummy! It is always a treat to go there and, at the end of the meal, to get some of their home-made coconut ice cream! Dh and I shared a scoop. Happy Anniversary to us!
It is 100 degrees out, but should be cooling down the next few days, yay!
Tweety, did I miss a bowling update? How did Goodfellas do?
Was filling out the daycare papers, and when I read the fees list to hubby, he immediately said, "Throw the papers away!" I filled out what I could and said we would retain the application 'just-in-case'. Guess he expected the day-care to be free? Even for one day a week it would be $80+, but we can pay that out of Nannie's social security check. // See why I say I want to give up on making all these arrangements that must be made, regardless of the place she will eventually end up? Maybe he's hoping the only payment that will go out will be when the funeral costs are presented to him. She does have a savings acct set aside just for funeral expenses....if she EVER passes away, that is.
Anyway I've got some of THAT stuff done for the time being. Time to put the laundry into the dryer. Then it will be time to decide about supper. Life sometimes can be such a whing-dang-doodle, don't it?
G'day.
Happy Anniversary!
We played a team that was absent for hurricane prep and they are bowling this weekend, so no idea how we're going to do, but we bowled well only one game. Funny every other team showed up but them because it was well before the hurricane.
We were able to discharge quite a bit of patient's today. Some facilities on the water had to evacuate but were accepting patients today.
Hi. I went to a group at a local nature preserve to brush up on identifying native plants. The reserve has a stretch of beach that we walked out on, just as the sun came out. There were some sea lions sunning themselves out on some rocks and we could hear them sort of growling. There were a few shore birds, gulls and cormorants.
Then I came home and fell asleep. I have my days and nights mixed up, I guess.
Happy anniversary, Dianah.
$80 a visit? or for a month of once a week? I should think it would be easy to eat in once or twice to capture that, but what do I know? Or maybe you will save that much on your insurance. Did you take the non-running car off, too?
$80 per day of daycare that includes breakfast (which she will not be there for) plus lunch and a snack, options for activities are not extra, and they have a special place, which has a fenced yard for dementia patients and wanderers. Don't need them to give her meds or do any bathing or shampoo and haircut, all of which cost extra. We'll see if I can convince hubby that it would be worthwhile. He wanted to know why they couldn't keep her overnight. I did not say: "Ummmmm, That's why they call it DAY-Care."
I haven't called the insurance company yet...hope I can do it tomorrow; don't know yet what that will save from her property insurance bill, to delete the RV and boat. I would love to get rid of the non-running car, but that seems to be hubby's 'special place' to drink and sleep. But we won't be keeping insurance on that car at all, as it is in no way suitable to drive. The tag is the only thing that is paid up until next year, so when time comes, we will not renew that!
I'll let ya know how much is taken off the property insurance payment .....which is a considerable amount for one year, so anything off will help her, financially.
I wasn't going to stay up and watch the ballgame, but here I sit with the TV on, and it is a hairy game. Braves were doing VERY well, until they changed the pitcher after the 6th or 7th inning. I can't decide if I am going to finish watching the game; the score is 8 (us) to 7 (them). Well, yes, I think I MIGHT see it through, even though it is now 12:55 AM. If it becomes a tied game I am not going to stay up to see the 10th inning!

Tweety glad the damage is limited and the power stayed on
Ado that does sound like an interesting place
Hi TMB
Dianah I hope you sleep better tonight
Stars if you could get some respite, even temporarily, I'm sure it would help a lot
Was fairly quiet at work most of the day. Things did get a little busier towards the end of the day but were not bad. After work did the grocery shopping and exercised
Today have a meeting at work, hopefully it won't slow things down. It's scheduled for when I normally have lunch, so counseling will have to be delayed again. Will find time to get laundry done and exercise too
Family is finally coming to an agreement on a family reunion date for next year. Will be a month later than usual, a bit worried it'll be hot and humid then, but it seems to be the only date that works for all
Will be a little warmer today, in the upper 70s, though will get quite a bit warmer over the weekend
