Hello Joe, and to all who follow!
Nice warm, Spring day, eh Joe? You might even see some birds! Hope IT can fix your email account.
Yesterday I walked the track in the park, which is just a 0.2 mile track in an open grassy area. There are a few orange trees on the perimeter, remnants of the orange groves that used to fill this area. Their blossoms are ALMOST all open, and smell so good! I watched four squirrels munching clover, and two Canada geese landed and were munching on the grass.
A man walked the track and then returned to his "car," an electric Gem e2, like a glorified golf cart, only it was street-legal (had a license plate). I take it he zips around town in it. Dh and I looked it up last night, on the internet. Dh configured what he would want in one, and he got the price up to probably 18-20,000. That's a lot for a golf cart!! So for now I am OK using our car to "zip" around town!
Today it is sprinkling out. I will do laundry and a few chores.
Have a good one!
I did get a photo of the blossoms. ?
Mmmmm, yeah, those oranges look ready to be squeezed! When we used to visit my mom during the Winter, in Sarasota, there were two orange trees in the back yard (she rented for 6 mos/year). She would squeeze them and put the juice in 1-2 quart-size containers in the freezer, then start thawing it for us every day. It was SOOOO YUM!
Last night I turned out my light at 2:20 AM, and hubby woke me up at 3:15 AM and asked for me to help him walk to the bathroom because he was "really dizzy". An hour after that he was having trouble with the nasal cannula audibly leaking 02, so I went downstairs to get a new one and set it up. An hour after that he called out saying he wasn't sure he'd checked his blood sugar; so I went to the kitchen and got his stuff to test it. He was shaking violently and couldn't do it himself, so I did it; it was 139. I finally had to go out to the Ford and get some of his 'stash'....all the while cognizant of the fact I was enabling him. The thought of him falling and me having to call the ambulance at that time of night was my excuse for doing so. So, after he slugged 2-3 little bottles, he was no longer shaking. I got back to bed and fell right to sleep at 5:20 AM.
Hubby, of course, continues to maintain that he is not sleeping at all most nights. I don't see how that can be, because so many days and nights of not sleeping could cause a lot of havoc for him. I think he probably does sleep in short naps. He is also back on the "I've got to find a way to kick this!" line of thinking. But, he says the 2 different pills the doc gave him "don't work". Sure wish we could put him in a residential rehab and let them deal with his withdrawal.
He also treated me to a lengthy recounting of his attempted 'eliminations', and how many times he had to get up, without results. Nurses always get the bowel discussions, don't we?
My fantasy is that I win a sweepstakes and put him in rehab and Nannie in a nsg home, and then I could have days and days of NOT taking care of anyone but ME!
It is 81 degrees and "that sun sure is bright!". I'm going out to refill the bird feeder.
No baseball games tonight.
We had no mail on Monday. It happens sometimes.
Then, no mail on Tuesday. No mail on Wednesday.
And, I checked around 2:30: no mail. So I drove to the Post Office to inquire. I had a little difficulty getting across to the employee that it was NOT just today, it has been FOUR days of no mail. FOUR.
He asked, "not even ads?"
Me: No, not even ads. Nothing.
The story I got was that many mailboxes in our area (about a 5-mile radius) have been vandalized, so that the "carrier" (the person who delivers the mail) is unable to open the box in order to place the mail.
Who fixes it, if it is broken? Post Office (unless a Homeowner's Association is involved, which is not the case here).
So, I was told: when the carrier arrives back this afternoon (between 4:30 and 5, at which time the Post Office will be closed), if s/he was unable to deliver to our address, s/he will file a report and the mail will be held there at the Post Office, for me to retrieve.
Me: Will there be a sign at the mailboxes, so we know?
P.O.: yes, we will post a sign.
I left my address, name, and phone number added to the information that we have received no mail Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
We'll see what happens tomorrow. Carry on!
We had issues with our mail delivery last Summer. The post office is chronically understaffed, and when Amazon has a big sale, the post office gets overwhelmed. And we experience a bit of vandalism. This is one reason why I refuse to get mail order prescriptions.
I had class today, today's subject was native plants. I found it very interesting. The bookkeeper from our dentist called about our outstanding bill. She refused to bill us at the beginning of the year, even though we told her dh's insurance had lapsed. But she insisted on submitting it to insurance anyway, so now after 2 refusals, she wants the money ASAP, cash or check. The amount was $577, so I got $580 from the bank. Of course the bookkeeper didn't have change. That would have been nice to know. Dd called me asking for a ride. She got hammered with a migraine, felt too nauseous to drive, so of course I picked her up. Now I'm at the ice rink with grandson.
I think Tweety is on the gulf side, while Ft Lauderdale is on the Atlantic side and farther south.
Temp only up to 55, and overcast.
Good afternoon.
Yes, I'm on the Central West Coast in Tampa Bay (where the Rays are 12 and 0) and we're in our dry season. In fact it's drought conditions and wildfires are happening. My area is labeled "severe drought". But hopefully our Summer rains will arrive and fix that. Crazy that South Florida got so much rain. We need rain but not like that.
I read that these atmospheric rivers that dump huge amounts of rain are going to be more common with climate change.
A nurse called off and we were short...what else is new.

One of my work email accounts wasn't working all yesterday, spoke to IT twice about it, they keep escalating to other departments. Thankfully in recent weeks the email volume has been lower so I don't think I've missed much. Hope it's resolved today
After work did the grocery shopping then went to yoga. Was a little stiff starting up better after a while
Woke up early this morning, fell back to sleep, and woke up in the middle of a dream. Which usually leaves me feeling rather groggy for a while
Going to be another unusually warm day in the lower 80s
