Tweety they seem to be awfully particular about the rules, doesn't seem like it should be that big a deal

Dianah those kind of gatherings are indeed often bittersweet

NJ22 hope your DH gets to the doctor

Stars hope your DH does pursue getting an appointment

Feeling a better today and slept better too.  Transitioning from flu like symptoms to cold like symptoms

Was tired and aching and had a fever yesterday, but kept symptoms under control enough that I was able to complete the work day

Used Instacart for the first time, disappointed that they don't work with Trader Joe's.  And that they confused apples with avocados.  Will order again today to correct the errors in my first order

Spent quite a bit of time rescheduling upcoming doctor's appointment, service for my car, and my trip to Madison.  All that has been moved to May

I have to say, being sick does force you to slow down and think about things, since you really can't go anywhere

Going to be fairly nice today, in the 60s

Good day!

I took the KIA over to get the recall taken care of (safety bags) and got inspected so I can send everything in to renew my tag. Have to renew my driver's license also, but on another day.

Before I forget for the 3rd time -- dianah, I am mid-way through book #6 of the Outlander series; there's maybe 1 or 2 more books in that series. Then I will get the one titled VIRGINS, which is about the main guy character and his buddy in Scotland when they were young, like a prequil to the first Outlander book.

No appt's made today by hubby. Not sure if he's kept the original one they gave him. But, now there is something else that's come up, but not with his health. When I got home, hubby told me that his daughter was taken to the hospital today because (?) "she was having a nervous breakdown". Then he said something like she was upset because 'the girls' didn't want her to be their mother anymore(?) But later said it wan't that the girls were mad at her, it's just that they think differently than she does, and (he added) "you know she's just a country girl" and they don't always agree with each other. Hubby also said that his dgt said she had felt like killing herself, but the only reason she didn't was because of her Daddy. Now he is all torn up inside about it, and says, "I don't know how much more I can stand of them putting all this on me." (?) ANYWAY....that's the soap opera update. The doc in hosp will change her medicine; she can't have any visitors at least until Sunday. That's all I know for now.

No baseball game tonight; the Braves lost 2-1 (I think) yesterday. The next game is tomorrow early evening, vs the Marlins.

Nannie is dozing while waiting for hubby to come back with our supper. Guess I better go get her pills and a drink, 'cause that's my job.

If I find out anything else, I'll update....

Hi, decent, overcast day here. The sun came out for a little while, while I was on my run. The county has reopened the trail where I usually run, so that was nice. I was out by the river, checking out everything that is sprouting and blooming. Wild cherry trees and wild roses, mainly. Not too many birds: robins, wrens, cedar waxwings and crows. And just a few doggos with their companions. My legs, especially calves were complaining a little. I didn't push too hard, just 2 miles and enough to get my heart rate up. Then I swung by the pharmacy to get booster #2, due to myself and several family members having co-morbidities. They sort of fussed, again, that I didn't have my vaccine card, but I just keep all that stuff in my phone. This afternoon I tackled the kitchen mess, and put a load of laundry in. Dh seemed to have gotten past whatever was troubling him. He went out to dinner with his new boss and seems more upbeat than he was. In fact, now he's talking about delaying retirement. Not me, baby. I am done in November!

Dianah, memorials are bittersweet. I am sure your music was much appreciated.

Joe, good to see that you are already feeling better. I've never used Door Dash. I have ordered ahead and picked up, and sometimes there are some errors.

Stars, that is some step family you have. I hope they and your husband can find some peace.

Tweety, I suppose you are busy delivering cares. I hope your shift is smooth.

No Stars, good your dh's dgt is getting the care she needs.  Seems every family has some sort of drama...  Hope your dh keeps his MD appt.

We have never tried DoorDash or InstaCart.  I just go to the grocery store and shop and bring it home and put it away.

My field trip today was to Lowe's.  I had an agenda, but I spent some time roaming the aisles and looking and looking (at least I got some steps in!).  I did get what I set out to: some indoor-outdoor carpet.  We will remove the hemp rope that is on the cat tree (shredded, has already been replaced once!), and nail up the carpet (inside-out) for them to sharpen claws.  Also got some leather cleaner (for car) and a new throw-rug for the entryway.  Heh.  That sounds impressive, eh?  "entryway."  It's just a step and then you're inside the house!!  Our house is only 1200 sq ft, but dh and I joke, "Sorry I didn't hear you, I was in the south wing!"  or somesuch. ? ?

Have a good day!

Good evening.

Joe, I confess to wondering about you saying you were going to the grocery store.  Sorry the delivery was messed up.  Hope you continue to do well.

J22, glad you could get your shot.

Stars, sorry for the added drama to your husband.  I hope step-daughter gets the help she needs.

Work was pretty good today.  I'm on my own tomorrow as my orientee has a class.

Have a good evening.
