There is not a thing wrong with thrift shop scrubs, or other stuff for that matter.
Take them home, wash them, they'll be fine.
You may luck up on some really great deals. Sometimes you find things in thrift stores that are new or almost new. Someone buys scrubs for school and changes plans, or starts and drops out; someone working buys scrubs and changes jobs, or gets pregnant, or whatever, and the scrubs end up at the thrift store.
Look at consignment stores, too, and look in your phone book to see if there are any used uniform shops.
You may end up with better quality than buying cheaper new scrubs.
I absolutly love uniformadvantage.com and uniformcity.com they normally have print tops for under $10 and sometimes they have pants for that as well!
Here's a tip I found for shopping online. If you can't afford to pay the price at a local retailer, try stuff on there. If you find you really like the fit of dickies etc. purchase them online, and then when you can afford to make purchases at local business, shop local. Does that make sense?

Hi there-
I'm starting a CNA course in September and need some scrubs. I have been advised by the lady who interviewed me to get them el cheapo because they're just going to get pretty dirty anyway. :wink2: So I'm thinking about trying to get some at the thrift shop! Cheap (under 6 dollars), and semi-fits me (I am five feet with an insanely short inseem). Is this wise? I personally don't mind wearing stuff from the thrift shop myself, but is it too not-sterile for an LTC environment?
Lastly, if thrift shop scrubs are a no-no, any advice on to where I can get some for under 15 dollars or so? It must be an actual store... my size varies by brand so I never shop online. Thanks for the help!
