I have been debating about adult nurse practitioner vs. family nurse practitioner. I have decided on family nurse practitioner based on job openings in my area. I doubt I will work with children or women but I will be more marketable as a FNP and able to change specialties if I choose to do so.
Good luck with your decision!
When I just had my GNP, I wanted to go back and get the ANP. What I found however, was that the FNP had more opportunities, so that is what I did. So while I'm a GNP/FNP, I still have the option of seeing just adults.
I personally think we should have one level of education with the opportunity to specialize. That way, you can move around as you desire - just like in nursing.

Right now I am looking at an online NP course, Frontier and University of Cin. I am a labor nurse and have a passion for women's health, but am I more marketable as a fnp. Is there a demand for one or the other?
