Just wanted to start a thread for the 2021 SRNA class at Thomas Jefferson University. Good luck everyone!
Hey so like the previous poster I have 2 years experience in a 15 bed MICU. Undergrad GPA was 3.5 and science GPA was 4.0. I am a charge nurse and preceptor on my unit. I am part of 2 committes within my unit. I have my CCRN and ACLS. One thing I valued about Jefferson and could tell through the interview process they cared about the whole candidate and didn’t just consider CVICU nurses who came from high acuity level 1 trauma centers. They value what all different candidates can bring to their program and I am so excited to start!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I’m not sure if the others on this forum were aware. This is interesting. I wonder if we can reach out to the director and ask ?
That is a huge drop. Now I am wary about attending (If I even get in).

Waitlisted to interview? Man, they must've gotten a ton of interviews this year.

Yupp! A friend of mine got the same decision a few weeks ago as well. Not the most promising if they are still offering interview seats to others, so unsure how the waitlist will end up working.

I meant to say applicants. But, yes I'm not sure how that'll work out. I wish you luck and hope that you applied to other schools to increase your chances.

@ramfer1192 @nicc2010 I received my acceptance letter on the same day as you two as well! Yay! Do you know if there is a facebook group or anything so that we can all get to know each other before the program starts?
Best of luck to everyone else applying ?
Congratulations to all those who have been accepted so far. Aside from @ramfer1192 @nicc2010 @MICU_RN11... Anyone else on this forum been accepted?
Hoping my application gets reviewed soon.

I had a total of 3 years of ICU experience in a 12 bed medical ICU. My advice to you is to try to go out of your way to learn as much as you can, get certified, and make yourself available for leadership positions (charge, RRT, etc). You can work in a large ICU and still be a mediocre candidate. As far as my GPA goes, I had a cumulative 3.9 GPA. Science GPA is 3.5 I believe. I am CCRN-CMC certified and had my ACLS and PALS prior to applying. At the end of the day, CRNA school will teach you everything you need to succeed. I truly believe they look for people who communicate well and try to excel and master their craft in whatever ICU they work (small or large).
