0Hello,
I was wondering if anyone else had applied to Thomas Jefferson's Fact 1-year program. I wanted to start a thread for prospective students like myself. Good luck to all that have applied!!!
Oh that's interesting, I wonder if they are just swamped with applications and realized they should stop giving out time frames. I was worried about that too. I'm hoping that since it's a new campus, they won't have nearly as many applicants as the main campus does. I didn't go to their info session since I go to Pitt, I wish I could've went! Did you go?
Yes, I went there. We were told they will start interviewing for Abington in November. They still needed to work things out about rooms, faculty etc. So I believe they only began to interview September applicants now. This could be another reason they don't give you number of weeks for review anymore. I also opted to be considered for 2 year program if I don't get into FACT-1. Please keep me posted when you get your invitation - so I can have an idea of what to expect)
I applied to the Abington-Dixon campus and I got the "4-6 weeks" email on Nov 6th. I got an email this morning saying I was invited for an interview! The email also stated that the first round of interviews would be in early January and that I would get another email with interview dates shortly.
Hi avc324! Congratulations. I got the 4-6 weeks email on October 5th, and haven't heard anything back yet, so I'm starting to feel a lot less hopefull. Do you mind sharing your gpa/grade stats and info about your healthcare experiences/recommendations?
Thank you! This is the first year that FACT will be at Abington so I'm sure they have a lot of kinks to work out and the application process will probably be longer than those applying to the center city campus. So don't worry!!
I have a BS in Animal Science. My cumulative GPA is 3.4. I had a pretty heavy science course load like two semesters of organic chem, biochem, etc. I've been working as a patient care assistant on a medsurg floor and ICU for the past year and a half. I do a lot of tech skills too like phlebotomy. I'm also an EMT. My recommendations were written by my nursing manager and my college advisor.
Good luck everyone!☺ï¸â˜ºï¸
Wow, ok, you seem like a very qualified applicant. No wonder you got an interview so quickly! Lol. What school is your BS from? I have been working as a nursing assistant for a year and had good letters of rec but my GPA is what I'm worried about. I also only had 2 of the science prereqs at the time I submitted my application, so maybe that's also the problem. Do you have all of them finished? I am hoping once I send in my fall grades I'll hear back, I'm just confused as to why they wouldn't e-mail me asking to send my new transcripts at the end of the month when they told me my app would be reviewed within 6 weeks.
Haha thank you! I went to Penn State! I assume because of your username you go to Pitt? What is your degree in? I had all my prerequisites finished before I applied. I would definitely send your updated transcript after this semester! I think the "4-6 weeks" email is more of a generic mass email than anything else.

Hi pitt2017! Actually the email I received after submitting my application didn't give any time frame for a review. Just said "We are reviewing applications on a rolling basis and selected candidates will be invited to interview". So just waiting here... I was in doubt applying for a new campus - class size is 6x smaller than the main one, but its super convenient for me. Keeping fingers crossed. Did you go for their info session in October?
