Hey Everyone,

I applied to Jeffersons FACT 1 year Center City program for May of 2020. I interviewed August 28th and still haven't heard back from them. Anyone else in the same boat?

Thank you so much for giving all of these details. It lines up with everything said at the info session, but obviously they make it sound more appealing in that setting. Do students often complain to the department about these conditions?

I totally agree with @bor123 I have also read reviews about other schools like , Widener (Positive and negative) and my conclusion was that there is no perfect school.. All schools have their flaws but the most important part is to just focus on the good sides and have a positive mindset in respective of which school you pick to go.

She was in the FACT 1year program !

Interesting! Seems like you guys are in a transition period and are stuck with many changes that are not benefitting you guys. Hopefully they realize and make the necessary adjustments so it does not happen to the next set of students!

Especially if it is an accelerated program! Bound to have flaws while squeezing so much in a year.

Yes, we have all expressed PLENTY of concerns with the program. The students in my cohort have sent countless emails, had meetings with the fact-1 director and often express our concerns during class. They are unable to help or just ignore our complaints. It’s very frustrating. The few professors who offer their phone numbers to help are available to help with the class material, not the program structure.

I'm currently in the FACT-2 program and am sorry to say that I have to agree with @VTW2019. Although no one has reported having issues with clinicals, our class is way too large (Traditional and FACT-2 are kept together for all classes other than the Master's classes) for the number of teachers.

They teach hours of lectures (be ready to sit for hours all day either taking notes or passing out), expect some interactions from students but with 150+ people in the room it's hard to have a decent conversation or even ask questions. Most of the teachers are available outside of lectures, and some of them are really awesome, good teachers but they're overworked and some of them just sound downright stressed and tired or not interested. They also have to remediate students one-on-one if students fail to reach the passing grade (77%). A large portion of my class has been failing patho despite working our butts off but one of the teachers is so incompetent that we've had to reteach ourselves all her lectures. Many students have complained directly to the Dean.

ATI (the NCLEX prep site) is expensive, very hard to use, and never used in class or outside. We only use it to take "proctored exams" that we then need to remediate, as part of our classes grades. Teachers don't know how to use the site so we get half-*** expectations/ explanations from them.

Morale is really down because of the level of disappointment, but the students are awesome and we're hoping it will get better soon. If you can put up with the bull, you'll be fine. But on the whole I'd give the program a weak C, which seems really expensive for a barely passing grade.

For those who were accepted or applying: What were yalls resume/CV’s like? I really need help with the format of my resume. I don’t have any hospital experience besides being a volunteer and I’m not CPR certified. So I’m worried that it’ll affect my chances.

Are y’all first aid/cpr certified?

what kinds of things did u have in ur resume?

if anyone wants to dm to help I’d appreciate that so much!

@Stelle David You'll be fine with your volunteer experience. They want to reach "numbers of people" in the program. Your experience is important but not a deal breaker. Your excitement about becoming a nurse demonstrated in your essay and at the interview is what matters.

Also do *not* get your CPR certification now. They will tell you when to take it and what company to pick. Your CPR certificate will have to be valid the whole time you're in the program. So taking it too early will not be an advantage.

Has anyone been accepted to the Abington-Dixon campus for FACT 1 - May 2020?

@sierrams7 Yes, I was accepted earlier this month! I believe Abington-Dixon campus only starts in August, and Center City starts in May but I may be wrong about that

& I got an email today that said 'to be ready to start in May 2020...' Maybe it's a new thing? Did you get something that said August?

I saw it on the Academic calendar that it started in August, but maybe I'm wrong then.
