I am curious. In your program, are you allowed to be off during Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. like the other college students? Is your Christmas vacation (for example) shorter than everyone else's? I don't know about my program (no orientation yet), but I remember reading a thread here where an LPN student said they were not allowed the same breaks. I am wondering if this is common. Thanks in advance for any replies:)

Like you said, every program is different. However, in our program we follow the community college schedule of holidays. We have a winter break, spring break, and holidays off. We have our own policy on snow days. We did not go into that specifically, but it has to be a state of emergency before school is cancelled due to snow/act of nature. We have to sit a certain number of hours in order to sit the boards, so the exact length of breaks may be shortened or altered I don't know about the specifics of that yet, but I do know we get recesses/breaks.

I can not answer that question. I have nothing from my school as of yet, which frustrates me quite a bit. Where are you going to school?

When I was in school - we followed the college's schedule. We had the same amount of time that every other program had off. We were given (ahead of time) a paper that we could begin working on over our christmas holiday if we choose to that would be due after our next quarter started. - Hope this helps.

I just checked my first semester's schedule. For Thanksgiving, we get Thursday and Friday off. On Monday, it's back to regular classes. There are two other days off during the semester, and then Dec. 23 , we get a Christmas vacation, but it doesn't say how long that it is. I assume we start back at the beginning of January, but I could be wrong.

I'll be going to the Odessa College LPN extension.

The school I will be attending follows the public school holiday schedule. This is great for me. I will get to spend this time with my little one. :)

When I was in class I remember we had that Thursday and Friday off. And we also had the week of the Christmas holiday off returning to class the first monday after the new year. It was not a fun time for after that holiday there were many tests Good Luck and study, study, study !!!!:kiss
