I am wanting to go to LVN school, and I'm going to start my pre-reqs this semester. But, today my dog got sick on the floor and I almost tossed my cookies . I starting wondering if I really should go to school to become a nurse. I don't normally have a weak stomach or anything, I can stand the sight of blood and many other disgusting things, but for some reason :barf01: just really gets to me. Does anyone else have this problem....or is it just me?? I really want to go to nursing school....but now i'm scared my stomach can't take it....help!!!
I can do anything with blood and guts, actually picked up brains off the road while I was a paramedic, but the thing that gets me is pus. Man, being there while the doc probes a cyst and squeezes it - ewwwwwwww
I must be a freak.. pus is cool! (God I can't believe I am admitting to that). "Move over Dr., I want my chance to squeeze"

i've been a nurse for nearly 3 decades -- still barf when i clean up dog barf. or dog poop. and i'm not so good with blood in unexpected places, either. in an open chest, ok. in a chest tube, ok. flowing out from under the bathroom door, not ok. if you really want to go to nursing school, go for it. i'm sure you'll do fine.
