My six year old has a bump on her head and I can't study for my final tomarrow because I can't stop thinking about that bump. She is six years old, over the summer a felt a bump on her head, it was hard and she didn't complain of anything so I assumed it was just her skull since her father has a "lumpy" head. Anyway, last night she bumped her head in the same area but she did not bump it hard at all. She was crying saying it hurt. When a felt it it felt a little soft, not hard like it was over the summer. She is going to doctor tommarow but I am thinking the worst, a tumor. Is there anything else this could possibly be that is less serious? She has no other s/s of anything else. Vision and everything is fine. How can I ease my mind so I can concentrate on my final exam?

I think tumors in young children are pretty rare. It is common for nursing students to think they and their loved ones have every possible disease based on a few symptoms.
I'm sure she'll be fine, and if not, there isn't anything that will be done until after her Dr. appt anyway. Doing poorly on finals won't help the situation, so try to study and worry about tomorrow when it comes

Hi, smstar1996
When it comes to our children, we think the worse case scenario. I can understand. Doesn't matter if we are nurses or not; we tend to not be able to reason with our heads, only our hearts.
She has an appointment tomorrow. If you just cannot relax, please go ahead and take her to urgent care.
Hope all turns out o.k. And, that you can study for your exam.
