I don't think that is too crazy, probably because I'm taking A&P II this semester ontop of my PN courses, and next semester I am taking Dev Psych and Pharm ontop of my PN courses. I am going straight into the ADN program after that, so I need to finish up a few courses.
Some people can swing that kind of schedule, some people can't. I don't know how people manage to balance social and school. :) I fail at it and become a book hermit.
I think it also depends on your program. LPN programs can vary greatly esp in differences between private schools and public community college. At least I have heard there is a wide variety in the boards here and from other lpns I have met. I did not have kids but worked two jobs and alto I got all a's and b's thru my lpn program I hardly slept and never got thru all the reading. I was amazed people got thru our program with kids. They were barely scraping by. In my program people attempted to take other classes but they ended up dropping. I am all for you cam do anything you set your mind to , but I know realistically that sometimes there are not enough hours in the day. But it's awesome to attempt !
While it seems insane, it all boils down to whether or not your friend/classmate is going to be able to manage time well. Those extra courses can be difficult and time-consuming, but with a good time management skills, and a willingness to do it, it is something that probably can be done without too much insanity overall.
Something else to consider, is that it is very much possible that subjects covered in one course may overlap with another, and therefore reduce overall study time necessary to do well in all of the classes. That is one such example of managing time efficiently, in the face of schedule adversity.
Only your friend/classmate knows whether or not they can truly do it.
If my program could have guaranteed no night clinicals, I'd do the same. However, we could have clinicals as late as 11, so I'm going to take online classes only concurrent with my LVN program.
I think your success is dependent on the intensity of your LVN program (I think some are harder than others, just like RN programs), your prior college coursework and background, personal aptitude, and scheduling compatibility.

My friend is starting the lvn program with me in January and she is also taking a&p 1 and microbiology at the community college! Don't you agree she's insane! She doesn't work but she does have kids and a boyfriend!
