Thinking about relocating to New Zealand

hi guys,
i am a uk nurse and wondered if anyone could give me any information about how to go about making enquiries about relocating to nz and what additional things i would need to to to and practice in nz, and what it is like to nurse in nz. i am a nurse practitioner in the uk.

in terms of registering to practice in nz, the nz nursing council has info here:

nz is made up of district health boards, depending on where you think you may want to settle, you should contact the district health board in that area. south island i believe they are southern, otago and canterbury dhb's. north island has a few more kapiti, central, taranaki, waikato, auckland etc. they all have jobs listed on them.

mabel, im really shocked that you would consider leaving your job in the NHS after reading your posts on the uk forum!

there is a good website here http://www.britishexpats.com which has alot of uk nurses going through the process, you need the relocating by occupation section.

i think i need to go and have a lie down to recover from the shock
