Thinking of putting off A&P and just focusing on Transitions...sigh

Ugghhh I really don't \know what to do. All i really know is that I have basically wasted 3.5wk on A&P and it's JUST NOT REGISTERING to me...sooo i'm thinking of just setting it aside (thank goodness for distance education cause you knwo you can't do that the traditional route) and focusing on Transitions, then go back and do A&P my problem i have now is that i've already registered and paid for both exams (not smart on my part should have just done it one at a time but i got overly excite=) and both need to be taken by Sept. 30th. I was *hoping* i would have been able to take one in June/July and one in Aug then do my two CLEP tests i need, and info lit, then enroll (saving micro for last blah) I don't know though, i'm just frustrated! My first practice test was a 40% and i haven't attempted the second one yet since i was saving it til a week or two before i wanted to take the final. Anyway, i got a review a&p book that came with a disc with NCLEX type question and i'm only get 50-60% on that so i'm sooooo lost and frustrated! I think i need the lecture but have not time for a traditional class...sigh...what to do what to do!

I would recommend going ahead and finishing up A&P...you've already come this far on it. Transitions is a very dull subject...hard to get into. Believe it or not, I much perferred A&P. LOL

If you havent already, go to UC Berkley's youtube channel and watch Prof. Diamond's physiology video lectures. She is great! I would set down and make notes while she taught. Also check out cliffnotes.com (under science - anatomy)

Look up video's online of anything that just isn't clicking....I looked up action of calcium with muscle contractions, and all the DNA - RNA stuff because actually seeing it made it 'stick' in my mind.

Go ahead and take your other test soon. Then study everything on the practice test and all the rationales. Really read all the rationales. You can find a lot of info there, even if it isnt an actual test question. I would make me a 'practice test' with all the info I could get out of the test, and work it, then get my husband quiz me on it until I could quote that stuff word for word.

Dont stress too much about scores on practice tests. I usually made 70's and got an A (except chronicity - got a B...but still make 70's on practice test:rolleyes:)

Here's some links to sites that I used...hope they help.

Wow thanks so much for the links! I will continue on, i guess we can't just put off things cause they are "hard" LMAO...oh well i'll try to do the video lectures and i'll look up the info that's not sticking right now and see what i can find out! Thanks so much!

I did buy the Straight A's A&P reveiw book w/ cd rom that has some great reveiew nclex type questions that seem to be helping a little bit. I don't care if i get a C i just wanna pass this thing! =)

thanks again!

Transitions is the transitioning to the RN roll exam...i'm registered for both A&P and the transitions exam, but was only studying A&P right now. I was thinking of putting A&P off for a bit and just focus on transitions.

Focus on your A/P I took A/P1 in c.c so I do have a basis to take the Exc. exam, just go over your study guide, and go over the subject matter. The Transitions I studied 2 weeks for that. I read a lot of your posts and you seem to be on the right track, I think your doing good.

wow thanks so much for the berkley videos! that really helped for more of an overview and review of what i have read. I did lectures 1, and 2 tonight...wonder how many total there are? I was able to quickly type notes while listening to her lecture and i swear things are sticking just from those two lectures!!! hopefully will gel everything so i can still take this test the end of the month...i think i'll try to listen to two or three of her lectures each night and take notes on them!!!! WONDERFUL!

i think there is about 39 or 40. Every system is covered, some bigger systems, like neuro has several lectures to cover. :D glad it helped!!!

yep helped alot actually. I think it's cause there is just SO much info and she really breaks it down so much better...sometimes the textbooks are sooo wordy and although i'm a strong reader with great comprehension i was feeling overwhelmed and lost. i'm through skeletal *three lectures on just this system...lol and tomorrow will listen to two more. Since i'm going on vacation July 1st i think i'll reschedule my exam from June 30 to July 16th so that gives me time to get through the lecures and in the off chance i do not do well , my vacation wont be spoiled LOL...BUT since i'm not PLANNING on NOT doing well, then this shouldnt matter...agiain thanks so much i've passed on the info to others i knew needed it! I'm a big believer in pay it forward!
