Thinking about LPN school

Hello,

I would like to introduce myself and say hello to everyone here!

I am NOT a nurse, but am strongly considering going into nursing. I already have a bachelors degree in education. It has not panned out the way I thought it would. I am tired of working low pay jobs and being stomped on in the corporate world.

Money is NOT the reason I am considering nursing. I desire to help others and have been told I am a very caring person. I have to admit, the job security of nursing is quite appealing. It would allow me to relocate and be able to get a job right away.

How does one know if nursing is the career for them? I have read on this website that there are so many areas of nursing one can go into. A person would not always have to be in a nursing home or hospital setting.

Can anyway give me any advice to "test" myself if nursing is the job for me?

I'm not sure if there's any kind of "test" to find out if nursing is for you or not. I think most have found if it is or isn't after they've actually started clinicals in school or while working as a nurse.

If you are wanting the quickest way to become a nurse, then LPN is the right route. Once you get your liscense with that, you can always decide if you'd like to stay as an LPN or further your education (and pay). Some employers will help with the cost of school. We have lots of techs and LPNs who are working while going to school & the hospital reimburses them the tuition, depending on grades.
