They won't pay me my money!

How do I go about dealing with an employer who hasn't paid me? I've made several attempts to collect payment-there's always an excuse. It has been over two months now--they are down right disrespectful. I'm thinking of taking them to court. Any suggestions on how to deal with such a matter?

This is exactly the same situation I'm going through. This agency promised work giving flu shots and despite the stories I would hear of other nurses not getting paid, I did continue working for them until mid November. From October until now I was only paid once. I have gone to the state labor department and they said as long as you're not making $900/week as a professional then you have a valid claim. I'm going to file my application form and pray for the best. I knew this particular agency was shady from the beginning, but nothing is going to stop me from getting what's rightfully mine.

WE WILL PREVAIL!! :smokin:

My advice? Stand in front of their head office with a big sign spelling out your complaint, and make sure that all the local media knows about it beforehand. I'm sure you'll get your check before the day is over.

oooh, I love this idea. Can we say "channel 7 news":yeah:

That happened to me as well when I was working for a home health agency. I had no idea what was going on as she was angry a lot, and demanding. I found out she was in financial trouble AFTER I resigned.

I filed with the state through WorkForce Solutions here in Houston.

Call your local employment office, and ask for the expert in that area. They face those issues every day.

Since writting the company a final letter for request of payment and having received nothing, I will be filing a claim in small claims court tomorrow. I called the labor department, where I planned to file a claim but decided suing them is a better option.
