They didnt say they would call me!?

Published

I had an interview last week & it went really well. The interviewer said she really thinks I will like the unit...said things like "when you get started.." and "after your orientation.." so I was under the impression that my chances of getting the job were high but she never let me know when a decision would be made or if/when they would call. Should I call nurse recruitment? I feel like I could be waiting forever!

Give her a call.

and anyone else reading this: when you have an interview for anything, at the end when they ask you if you have any questions, you do. you ask, "when should i expect to hear from you?" whatever they say, you then say, "thank you very much. i'll give you a call around then." so if the time frame they give you comes and goes, you then call the person who interviewed you and say. "good afternoon, jane. i am calling to touch base with you on the xyz position you interviewed me for on (date)." then stop. she will say something. don't chatter on. this is the professional way to do it.

I don't have her specific phone number..she is the interim manager and didn't give me a card or anything. I may just call the nurse recruiter towards the end of the week as my interview was just on Friday. I kicked myself after I left because I was going to ask but thought she was going to bring it up at the end...I even thought she might offer me the job because she seemed to like me so much. BUT i also know that sometimes interviewers don't intentionally mean to imply that the job is yours when they say things like that but as an eager and anxious prospective employee we analyze every word! I will take your advice when calling GrnTea :)
