I just had to make a post about this.
I have a Chemistry class, and the book costs nearly $300, I didn't have one. I was saving up money, and waiting for my student refund check to arrive. I really needed the book, but was getting by by making copies of the chapters from other students.
An unfortunate situation happened for a classmate of mine, a family emergency, so she had to drop the class. And she gave me her book. That was the nicest thing another student has ever done for me. She could have easily kept it and used it for next semester but she gave it to me. How nice of her. I will defintely be paying her back.

I completely feel you on how there are still some nice people left in this world. Currently I am in a battle with my financial aid office to release any of my grant funds so I can purchase my summer semester books. The books I need total up to 200 or so dollars and fortunately I have a really cool math teacher who I emailed and explained my financial situation- I'm 16 years old, blah blah blah, in no financial situation to be purchasing the book If he could work with me I'd repay him for the book, etc. Well he calls me up, tells me to come down to his office, he GIVES me a BRAND new book and says don't worry about it, all I ask is that you give 110% ! AWW :) So yes, there are still nice people!

Wow, that was really nice of her to do. I know exactly what it's like to save up for a textbook you only use for three months and then sell back for half the price. My financial aid only covers $400 at the bookstore and most anatomy textbooks are that much alone.
Yeah, I totally understand you guys
I've been studying like crazy since I have the book. This really made me happy because that book is very expensive, and our teacher gives us assignments from the chapters. So we really make a lot of use of the book

It's great to hear things like that. I actually shared my chem book for the whole semester with the person that sat next to me. The first day she asked but after that I just kept doing it without her ever asking. The book was about 200 bucks and she was really nice and I knew she appreciated it. We had to bring our book to class and since I had already bought it, I didn't see a reason not to share it. At least I knew it was getting some real use then =) I knew that if I were in that situation she would have done the same for me.
And I agree, the price for these books are enough to make your head spin. Luckily I can use my chem book for organic chem but my anatomy book (text and lab) will cost about 300 bucks and on top of that I have to be a micro book too. I use to get a book voucher but I don't understand where they think that $400 was going to do for us.
