The Waiting Game

Ugh... Just got back home from taking the NCLEX PN. The test stopped at question 92 and I feel miserable!! I had a ton of OB questions which OB is my weakest subject as well as a bunch of the critical thinking priorities of care questions. I remembered and looked up the last question I had before the computer shut off and I got it right. I just hate the waiting lol I don't know what I'll do if I failed :o

Yeh07 We could be twins, I too was at the top of my class, top score on the HESI. I felt the same as you do about the NCLEX like I forgot all they taught me, & the questions didn't really make me feel warm & fuzzy. But I did pass and I am sure you did too. I found my License number on the state website 48 hours to the minute from when I finished my exam. So I did not pay to find out the results.

:balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :o :o :o :uhoh3: :uhoh3: :uhoh3: I passed my boards!!!! Would love to be extatic about this, however a MAJOR glitch came in the mail today. I recieved a letter from the Nursing board stating that my license is deemed denied as I neglected to notify them of an arrest in 1992 in Texas for assault. I was in a very volatile marriage at this time and I hit my then husband back. He promptly pressed charges against me as collateral to keep me in the marriage,( he promised to drop charges if I stayed around.) I spent 8 hours in jail and packed our 4 month old child and a suitcase and left him while he was at work. I did not THINK to relay this information as I had put this part of my life in a closet and do my best not to think of the nightmare I lived for 3 years. Realistically, I should have made note of it and submitted it with my criminal background. I assumed it was too far back, 15 years and assumed it was not going to affect me. Obviously, I was wrong. I have to have another review once I submit court paperwork from halfway across the country. This is rather devastating as my family in Texas is still angry with me for having put myself in this situation. I have worked at the hospital where I have an LPN job waiting for me for over two years and this was never brought to my attention with their background check. So, I am at a loss for words and devastated. Any input would greatly be appreciated.

yeh07 don't throw in the towel. I know this is a huge disappointment for you, however you need to keep at it. A girl who graduated with me had the same sort of thing happen, exept the board of nurses in Texas wouldn't give her a GVN until she provided a Decleritory Order, It took some time but I understand she will be allowed to take the NCLEX on Monday and will be be licensed if she passes. Sorry for your delay, but keep your head and work thru it, It will be worth it.

just out of curiosity how long does it take before you find out your results?

also do nursing boards have clinical test and written or is it all written?

i remember when i took my cna like 9 yrs ago there was clinical portion and they told you if you passed that part right then but you had to wait 2 weeks for written results
