The Wait Begins... Any Other NVCC 2012 Hopefuls?

Published

So, after a few years of pre-requisites and co-requisites and getting used to school again after a break for a few decades, I finally submitted my application for the Traditional program at NOVA.

I have a feeling this is going to be a loooong 5 or so months of waiting.

Anyone else apply/applying?

marmite75 , did they ever notify you that your application was recieved and forwarded to the nursing department for consideration? i think the most recent e-mail only went out to those of us whose applications went in closer to the deadline. other applicants who submitted early did receive a confirmation that their application was sent on for consideration, but i do not believe they got the most recent e-mail (i may be wrong on that, but it is how it seems to have happened from what i have read/seen.) i would call the office if you never received any sort of confirmation after submitting your application to find out what happened.

we are so close now everyone! by this time next week we will most likely know one way or another!

CaligirlinVA, No - I received no such email or letter. TrulyBlessed1, I will call on Monday and speak to Mrs ****. Thank you everyone for your encouraging words and advice. Wow! What a nutty week I have had, on top of worrying about the nursing application! Time to resolve this ... Onward ho!

Copacetic, I will let you know - I think the ones who sent in their applications early are all at the bottom of the pile!

I am applying to the traditional program and I got an email from student services saying I was forwarded to the nursing division and then I received a conformation email wednesday from the nursing department saying that acceptances would be sent out no later than 6/8, and THEN On friday I got an email from a nursing counselor saying they were "pleased to tell me my application has been recieved and processed by the nursing division and if I had any questions I could call"... I don't know whether the most recent email is good or bad news..but only a few more days to really find out!! *good luck* :)

That sounds promising MG0907! Hopefully we will all know by the end of the week!

wow MG0907...I didn't get anymore emails outside of the two telling me it's been forwarding to the nursing department for consideration...Did anyone else receive emails from the nursing division? My understanding was that letters would start going out on June 11th...will they be sending acceptance letters via email as well?

Aprincess, the last e-mail I got from the nursing department last week stated that they would be sending out letters of acceptance/non-acceptance via our student e-mail accounts, followed by the letters in the regular mail. They hope to have the letters sent to our e-mail no later than Friday, June 8. I have not recieved a third e-mail yet. I had to have checked my NOVA e-mail about 20 or 30 times yesterday. I have already checked it 3 times today. Is it Friday yet? :)

I didn't get any other letter either so I sent Mrs **** an email yesterday and she said they were sending the emails to everyone and a hard copy would go out in the mail!!

I am so nervous I have been checking my email every 15 minutes just in case......good luck everyone at least we should all know by Friday!!! :w00t:

Just emailed Mrs Vito and emails will go out no later than Friday....so only 3 more days!!!!

3 days to go!!! This is killing me! I am hoping that when they say no later than the 8th, that they mean it. :-) I am also hoping that it will be first thing on Friday morning...crossing my fingers. Not sure if I can deal with the wait any longer. Good luck to everyone!!!

Oh, the drama!

To those of you who have been following my angst ridden application journey, thank you for your support and encouragement. It was due to your urging that I called Mrs. Vito and discovered that the Student Service had lost my application - they have no record of it, anywhere. Thank the sweet lord above for delivery confirmation and tracking because I had proof that it got to student services, and it went missing under their care.

Thank you too, for Mrs. Vito! What a sweetheart: She apologized profusely, and tried her best to discover what happened and then allowed me to resubmit my application, which I dropped off this AM. That lady deserves a round of applause for her care and patience.

OK, enough about me.

This is what they're doing today: Drumroll please....

Today they're going through all the competitive applications, and are going to choose from that pile who the prospective nursing students will be. We will all find out Friday ...

I am sure I am going to develop a stomach ulcer by Friday! Seriously, best of Luck to everyone: We have worked so hard to get to this point, let us hope for the best!

OMG Marmite!!! Thank goodness you called! I was worried about that exact scenario until I finally got an email later than everyone else. Until that point, I was worried that mine was lost behind a desk or something. I'm so happy that they allowed you to turn in a new one. Good luck!!
