The Wait Begins... Any Other NVCC 2012 Hopefuls?

So, after a few years of pre-requisites and co-requisites and getting used to school again after a break for a few decades, I finally submitted my application for the Traditional program at NOVA.

I have a feeling this is going to be a loooong 5 or so months of waiting.

Anyone else apply/applying?

I also got an email from Mrs **** but mine made me even more nervous because I applied to LPN-RN program and she sent an email to inform us that the date of orientation if we get accepted is June 27th the letter had said it would be the 29th and I counted how many people that was sent to and it was 43 but there are only 30 spots for the LPN Transition class so I am thinking that is 13 people who probably won't get in and I am praying one of them won't be me!!

Oh my gosh it is going to be a long 10 days till we get those letters......did your email say they were going to email students and tell them if they were accepted or not???

I am a nervous wreck!!!!!

Hey LPN...our email/letter said that we would receive an email stating whether we were accepted or not. That would be followed by a letter in the mail. And they said that it would go out no later than June 8.

Thank you NurseRemington I did not know they had a bridge program, I hadn't looked into them because I thought it was straight RN I will definately keep that in mind if I don't get into NOVA........do you know how long the program is?? It is nice to know they don't have a waitlist!! :)

I am a little nervous now: I sent in my application for the traditional RN in Feb, and still have not received an email! I have a 4.0 and got 96 overall in the TEAS, so I feel I am competitive but reading everyone's posts about receiving emails has me doubting my submission. Anyone else waiting for email confirmation? Is it just LPN-RN's getting emails? Maybe my application is at the bottom of the pile?

Sigh. I hate this waiting.

Marmire75 I think there are others on this forum who haven't gotten the email, I am thinking the LPN-RN students might have gotten them first because I don't think there is as many applicants for that program but that is just my guess and my wish since I applied to that program!!

Besides with the stats you have you are totally going to get in but I know how nerve wrecking this waiting is but we only have 7 more days until letters are mailed and hopefully acceptance emails will go out before that!!!

Good Luck!!!!

Marmite, have you called them???

Thank you LPN-RN2012 for the encouraging words. TrulyBlessed, I haven't called but I did email Mrs **** in April enquiring about the confirmation email, she replied then that she was going through early Feb submissions. I suppose a call may be in order to the Nursing division, just for peace of mind. I hesitate to call during such a hectic time, knowing that there may be little chance someone would answer the phone, but I could at least leave a message.

Oh well....

Marmite - I submitted my application several months ago as well, and have not received this latest email either. If you do call, please let us know what you find out! Is it just me, or does it seem these last few weeks are the slowest?!? Best of luck!

Copacetic, I submitted my application for traditional RN program in March or April, and I received both confirmation letter and email in May 17. Before that I also emailed and called student service several times and they told me to wait until it is forward to nursing division, I would received the email or letter about "the reference to the receipt of your Nursing Application Package". I think you should call or email to make sure if they received your application.

I'm sure they are VERY are busy right now but, long story short, I needed to call them yesterday because I had to change my residency status with the school. Ms. Vito answered the phone and was very helpful. She actually remembered my name, knew why I was calling and what I needed to do..so I wouldn't hesitate to call. I think they just don't want people calling and asking questions like "whats my status..did I get in?" lol.

penguin - A while ago I got a letter in the mail and an email stating that my package has been received and it was being forwarded to the department for review. However, I did NOT receive an email that states that they should be sending out acceptance/non-acceptance letters by June 8 via email and then in the mail. I wonder, though, if that email came in response to a particular request, or if it was a bulk email? If it was bulk, am I the only one who has not received it?!? Gack!!!

I got my letter May 17 and it did not say anything about them emailing acceptance/non acceptance it just said we would not hear anything until at least 4 weeks after May 14th......I am really hoping they changed their minds after they sent those letters out and decided to email us as well but now I have been checking my student email 50 times a day...just in case!!!!

Going crazy here waiting!!! this is my favorite smiley because this is totally how I feel!!!!!
