The University of Texas at Austin | Alternate Entry Master of Science in Nursing (AE-MSN) 2024

Published

Hi there,

I commented on last year's thread because I wasn't able to make a topic, but I figured out how to make one and so I wanted to post for people applying to next year's cohort.

Is there anyone currently in their PC-PNP program that would be willing to chat with me about the likelihood of acceptance?

Is anyone else applying to that program? Or to the other ones?

@Keno hey how was your experience with pharm on straighliner? Was the class manageable/how long did it take you to finish? And were transcripts easy to send?

It was good. It is self-paced which made it easier to balance it out with other things. It took me about a month and a half to finish. Yes, sending the transcript was easy and quick.

Hi everyone! I am looking to apply for the AE-MSN program for the PCPNP concentration this year. Can anyone who has received acceptance into the program look at my info below and give me any feedback to maximize my chances of admission? Thanks!

Undergrad GPA: 3.29 (need to complete more prereqs)

Work experience (past and current): Swim instructor, medical scribe, research internship for 2 semesters, currently working as a medical assistant in a clinic

GRE (still need to take)

Other extracurriculars: Orientation leader, officer positions in a pre-health organization and a religious organization (all in undergrad)

I just wanted to update those who are still waiting to hear back...

I JUST got my acceptance email today, so keep those chins up!

Looking forward to meeting everyone in June!

Anyone in here in the PMHNP specialty? Would love to meet!

Follow up in 2024, has anyone in or completed the Leads program in UT AE MSN? If so how was/is your experience?

Thank you! Last question were the exams more powerpoint based or textbook?

Towards the beginning of March we were sent an email that had all the information we needed for compliance through the website Castle Branch (shots, vaccine records, lot of small online safety stuff, CPR and First Aid, etc.). You will also be given permission to apply for School of Nursing scholarship sometime in March. You must have completed you FAFSA as part of the scholarship application, so you can start on that now. The school of nursing offers First Aid and BLS/CPR certification classes, so if you aren't certified you can sign up for that online. At the beginning of May you can purchase your parking permit most people park have a C lot permit or a Trinity Garage permit. Typically the SON follows the UT calendar so the first day of class will probably be June 6th for yall. It was June 1st for us. We had one week off at the end of the Summer semester before the fall semester started. Our orientation was May 23 and 25, then we started the following Thursday with classes. Hope this helps, let me know if you have more questions.

Does anyone's Castle Branch show that their documents were due on 6/1/23? Everything is marked as overdue on my account.

Hi, all!

I finished my resume and statement of purpose for the 2025 application. I am aware that the application does not open until August 1st, but I was told to go ahead and complete as much as possible asap before it actually opens. I was wondering if anyone who has gone through the program, in it currently, or will be applying  could give my resume and paper a look? I have no idea what I am doing, and all feedback is GREATLLYY appreciated. TIA!
