The University of Texas at Austin | Alternate Entry Master of Science in Nursing (AE-MSN) 2024

Hi there,

I commented on last year's thread because I wasn't able to make a topic, but I figured out how to make one and so I wanted to post for people applying to next year's cohort.

Is there anyone currently in their PC-PNP program that would be willing to chat with me about the likelihood of acceptance?

Is anyone else applying to that program? Or to the other ones?

@Leahpsych I was interviewed yesterday. My application was initially for PMHNP, then I received that email saying I had the option to make a switch so I did. Then received a follow up email from a faculty member on Tuesday with a link for a zoom meeting scheduled for Thursday. It might just depend on what faculty member is assigned to your file. Because mine even offered me a different day if Thursday wasn't feasible for me.

@Leahpsychwow! That's awesome congratulations. Did you end up interviewing for Leads or PMHNP? I was curious how many people interviewed for PMHNP

Does anyone know how long the interview is for LEADs?

Interview for LeaDs is 30min- 1 hour depending how fast you answer the questions. Mine was an hour.

I think I read on here that we won't find out until Jan.

@Texasgirly777 Mine was for 30 mins. Honestly It was more of a conversation for us, the questions were pretty straightforward just don't sound too reheorificed because she kept saying she liked that I told my own story. she said she was going to forward the survey to the committee afterwards and I should hear back In February. She was extremely nice and said I could email her whenever if I had questions or don't hear back from them in early February.

Thanks for sharing! What sorts of questions did they ask you?

They have interviews until the second week of January and will have final decisions in February.

@Thejoyceonchicon tell me about yourself, why nursing, why MSN, what do I plan on using my degree to do, how do I manage stress, will I be able to commit to the rigorous curriculum seeing that I might be in school from Monday- Saturday, do I have a support system? There's one question I'm forgetting; something about been a prepared MSN...

Awesome! Thank you. Seems like pretty standard questions. I'm not sure what sorts of questions I was expecting but this helps a lot!

Thanks for posting this!!

You very welcome. Wishing y'all the very best of luck.

Hi! I applied for the PMHNP program. I see that some people say that they were offered to apply for the LeaDs program and made that switch. Did the email still say you would be considered for both programs?
