Hello all,
The time is finally here! Two years of pre-reqs was tough, i thought I'd never get here...but yes its time, and i really had to overcome the fear of taking this test [pax-rn] June 29 is my day, and I hope I pass on my first try. I'm studying from "Review Guide RN pre-entrance exam third edition" also studying my vocabs with "GRE-flash cards". Just thought I'd share for any future pax test takers :) any suggestions or pointers would help as well, thank you & have a fabulous day!

Best wishes SJ! Sounds like you have very solid study plans and I hope you do well!
I'm wondering how/at what point you started studying? I had thought I'd save Micro for my last pre-req as I wanted it to be the most recent coursework done before beginning NS. I also think I will really want to give it solid focus; doubt I will want to squish in studying for my PAX simultaneously...or would/should I??
Curious how others planned for studying to take the PAX -- along with your last pre-reqs or in a concentrated effort after your last pre-req was complete?
Thanks much!

Hi Autymn,
My last pre-req was A&PII, and required my full focus, so it was tough. I had taken a Nelson Denny Pre-test from our learning enhancement center at our school and did poorly on the vocabs, I also had the book and disc(Review Guide RN pre-entrance exam third edition) at home by that time, so I took the practice tests from the disc and I seen what section I needed to study alot for which was vocabs. I bought my GRE-Vocab flash cards and have been studying those while I'm on break at work, or on a break at school.... I did really well on the Comprehension section, so I will probably spend a week reviewing that, and then move on to math... and so on... By the time I'm done studying, I would say I studied for about 3-4 mnths.... some days I was just to busy to study because of school and work, but since we're coming to an end here in the semester (next week is last week) I will be kicken it into high gear, and study every day.... so I have exactly 2 months to just focus on studying for the test... I think if you know what you lack in, you should study simultaneously, whatever chance possible, other then that, as soon as your done with your pre-req, register for the test, have a solid date so you can just focus on studying for the test and have time to prepare yourself for that day... Thanks for your best wishes, and good luck to you too! Feel free to message me or find me anytime as we will both be on the nursing boat eventually
Autymn,
I'm not sure if your school requires you to take the Nelson Denny test along with the Pax, My school does, and a lot of students are failing the Pax because of the vocab section in the Nelson Test....just wanted to clarify, in case you were wondering "what in the world is Nelson Denny" hahaa. Again if your school just requires you to take the PaX then I suggest you get the book, and it comes with discs so you can take practice tests. The practice tests are very helpful and show you where you need the most studying.
