The Road to CNE Success...

Published

Hello fellow colleagues,

I have just registered to take the CNE examination and I am looking for some beneficial feedback. What are the best things that I can do to help me prepare successfully or what do you feel was a game changer for you to be successful?

I have the Billings & Halstead, Teaching in Nursing 4th ed - I plan on reading and reviewing that after reading other comments on CNE. Is the 4th ed still relevant or should I get the 5th?

What about SAE from NLN?

What study books are definitely worth their purchase?

Any feedback is appreciated...Thanks in advance...

I am scheduled to take my test in mid October. I will keep posted. The practice questions with rationales seem to help me best, I am not much of a reader.

I am really hoping I can pull it off, it is a lot of money to fail...

I found practice questions to be very helpful. Having a solid understanding of Boyer's model of scholarship, Bloom's taxonomy, and item analysis was very helpful for me in preparing for the exam, as well as understanding professional progression and promotion in the academic setting. Good luck!!!

What program/book do you have to buy for practice questions?

I bought the NLN sample tests and the CNE app (full version) from Higher Learning Technologies. It was like $79 but worth it, IMO.
