The old saying about Religion and Politics

Nurses General Nursing

There is a time and place for opinion, and, there is not a time and place for opinion. I am embarrassed by my lack of discipline at allnurses.com. I started out as an exrememly happy man (still am) because I am accepted into an RN program. There is so much to learn here about nursing and about my own behavior.

Sex, politics or religion are subjects not worth discussing here.

Sometimes I feel its okay to give my thoughts, for example, if someone brings up a God (religion), or a war (politics) but is it worth it? With a smile and a honest laugh...it's NOT worth it.

Nursing is a profession, and happpens to be my vocation as well. It would be foolish of me to allow people to get angry at me because of my views. And just because others may be offering their views DOES NOT mean I have to as well. Seriously. I'm gonna take some of my own old advice now and keep my image clean, professional and white.

When I am hired as an RN, I would perfer to wear a white/clean uniform....so why shouldn't I follow suit now? Even though other folks may wear different uniforms, my pride is in my abilities, and not in my political or religious views.

Mario, If anyone here has a problem with your entries, he/she can choose to not read them. If anyone in the break room (or where ever) has a problem with your opinions, they may choose to leave. As for me, I ain't goin' nowhere. I always enjoy/learn/think about what you talk about. Thank you.:)

Hi Mario--

I'm glad you're starting to lighten up and not take yourself so seriously!! Nurses are the most irreverent people in the world. There is very little we haven't heard before; very little that we find shocking or offensive.

Now, you look like a nice young man. You and I both live in the Portland area. Maybe I should introduce you to my daughters, who are 21 and 24. They are not nurses, but one works for the Blazers, so always has Blazer tickets!

Where do you go to nursing school? Do you go to Linfield?

Hello Mario,

Off topic but here goes.......

Have you ever read "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance"?

You're style of writing reminds me of this book. (I read it 15-20 years ago so my memory may be a bit off) You always seem to be "trying to become one with whatever you are doing." Kewl...

Before I go on a date, i'd like to give my date a bed bath first. This way, i can inspect their dermis, and see if they have any electricity or not. I'd let them give me a bed bath too. I need to have a sponaneous relationship with a female student nurse or pre-existing nurse, for my own benifit. Having such a relationship would have a mutual trade off.
