Hello there, I'm new to allnurses and am excited to be helping my daughter apply to nursing school. What is the best way to write the personal essay- or if you have any tips or advice that would really be appreciated. In addition, she's applying to Ohio Valley School of Nursing and if you have any comments regarding Ohio Valley School of Nursing please advise. I appreciate any help you can provide.
Thank you,
Tami

My best advice is to let your daughter explore her options herself. No offense intended, but in my experience, the most successful nursing students are those who have a drive within themselves, outside of parental influence/desire. I saw all too many nursing students fail in the first semester, simply because nursing school was their parents' plan, not their own.
Your daughter should be posting here with her questions, not you. I'm sorry to be so blunt, but if your daughter is old enough to be applying to nursing school, she is old enough to be posting her own questions, if she is truly interested.
To be brutally honest, helicopter parents need not apply to nursing school.
