The newest member of the Army Nurse Corps!

Specializes in Med-Surg, Ortho, & Tele all on one ward!.

I am the newest member of the Army Nurse Corps- just found out my NCLEX results were a pass. YAY! Now I get to kick back into gear with a PT plan and wait for orders for OBC (or BOLC II, but maybe I will get lucky, haha).

This next year is going to be rough- but I know I can handle it. If I get the next OBC date I will get back home just in time to watch my husband deploy to Iraq for another year. I was hoping to start AD with my husband around to ask questions to, but oh well- looks like this new LT will be doing it solo.

I really am excited though- 4.5 years of ROTC, and now I am finally set and ready to be starting my job. I am hoping for a Med-Surg assignment first, and then want to move into CC (I believe it is 66H8A that I am aiming at). One step at a time though :)

I am off to celebrate with a 2 mile run, followed by a call to my BDE nurse counselor with the news.

You sound like a person who has it all together...and on the start of an exciting life..congrats and best wishes

BTW, MedSurg is 66H & 8A is an [ASI] Additional Skill Identifier for critical care nursing. Therefore, you are correct!

ArmyKitten:

Sorry I just now read your posting! Hey, good for you! I hope you enjoyed your run (groan, hate the running but love working out at the gym)

Best of luck to you. Stay Safe!
