The Job Hunting Process... How Do You Relieve Your Tension/Stress?

Published

I'm reaching the point of the year after graduation. I've been job hunting as near to my house to far and wide. I'm constantly looking at what I need to add/edit/delete on my cover letters and resumes. I review interview questions, what kinds of questions to expect, the best answers to those questions. At this point, I am mentally exhausted.

For anyone and everyone who is struggling to land that first job, how do you cope with all this stress? What do you do on you break from all this job hunting? For me, I hit the gym, or work on other hobbies to take a time out (I crochet, and NO it's not just for old ladies!). I just wanted to start a thread on things we can do so that we don't lose our minds.:clown:

I completely understand. I, too, am approaching a year and getting very anxious about that. Unfortunately I don't have an answer for your question but just wanted to thank you for posting the question. I also wanted you to know that you are not alone. Perhaps I should pick up a new hobby during this time to take my mind off of things.

it's exactly 2 years after my grad.. i am still hoping new grad programs will still accept me.. :((

i will attend the nurse job fair in LA on tuesday.. hoping that i can find my luck their... my confidence is going down, this job huntng harship is killing me...

I hear ya loud and clear - it is very mentally exhausting!! I too have been looking far and wide and close to home for a job, and find that it is easiest to focus on one location at a time (a city, state, etc). I also made some kind of contact with each of them and wrote down the date so that I can have the reassurance that my name is out there. It helps me to talk to a clinical recruiter and ask some questions - it makes the 'position' more real that way and that you are making progress in the process. I also workout to destress. Bikyam yoga is a big mind/body cleanser and very empowering way to cool your nerves, too. Today I colored. :jester:
