I applied and was accepted for the fall 2019 part time MSN-FNP program.
Who else has applied? Who else has been accepted?
For graduates of the program; Any tips or sage advice?

I was also accepted in the MSN FNP program at GWU for Fall 2019. I'll be doing it full time.

I was also accepted in the full time FNP at GW starting this fall. Is there anyone out there that has graduated the program? I am really scared of it being online instead of in person ... I would really love to hear about someone experience.
@L.B How much is the tuition fee in GW for the MSN FNP program?
Congratulations on your acceptance! All the best!

I graduated from their AGPCNP program last year.
@NSDQ739, I went part-time. I think it was worth going part-time. I was able to work full-time until clinical started. Because of this, I do not have any school debt *twirls around*
@Sublyme_Ron What would you like to know specifically about it?
@L.B It sounds like you'd like to know what it's like to do a program online. I think there are advantages and disadvantages, like anything in life. One advantage: I loved being able to do my schoolwork whenever and whenever I wanted. I was working full-time, so I got up at the crack of dawn before work to do my homework. There were a handful of times where a meeting was "required"--definitely the on-campus portion and exams, sometimes presentations--but otherwise, a lot of flexibility. One disadvantage: I did miss collaborating with classmates face to face. Another disadvantage: We had to find our own preceptors and that was truly a pain in the rear. I've been told, however, that is more the norm than the exception so if I went to a local school, I might have had to find my own preceptor anyway.

Hi there!
I was also admitted to this fall's MSN FNP program! Does anyone know if there is a FB group or another type of group where we can connect?
Thanks!
@db2xshey there!
Do you think GWU's program is worth it for its cost? It's more expensive than others in the area , though it is a flexible program for working people, so I am wondering if it is a quality education or are they just trying to get our money? lol

Hi @Aprilynne
I had a small pool of schools to work with because I had stringent criteria for what I wanted from my program. I don't know much about the other schools in the DC area because I live in California. I know that UMD does not have an MSN program though, only DNP, so I imagine more expensive. I thought Georgetown was more expensive but I really don't know since it was not a contender on my list.
I don't have another program with which to compare GW but I had a classmate who had been in another program previously (unsure where) and said GW was much better.
I think most schools are trying to get our money! It's just a matter of how much we're willing to pay. Myself personally, I am admittedly a bit of a "brand label" school person, meaning I am willing to pay a little more for a genuine Louis Vuitton bag, i.e., a top school, than pay for a cheap knock-off, i.e., an unknown program, but that's just me. But cost still was important to me. Columbia is an arm and a leg and essentially unaffordable, especially if one doesn't live in NYC, but I could work full-time while going to GW and paid my tuition off while I was a student. Hope this helps.

What's a SOP? Do you mean a SOAP note?

Statement of Purpose, I have just finished working on that one.
What are your views on "in-campus vs online MSN" and "Part-time vs Full-time MSN", I have a full-time job, working 8 hours M-F and a toddler...
