The end of a career?

Hello. I am worried my nursing career is over. I realized nursing was what I wanted to do a bit later (graduated at 29). I started on a medsurg unit and was bordering that magical 2 year experience mark and thinking of applying for other jobs when my husband got military orders that took us to Europe. There are no nursing jobs out here....literally none. I cannot work or even volunteer on the economy. I am volunteering on the base inpatient unit, but it is very small. We will be here for four years. Other professionals travel back to work contracts, but I have a young child and do not have a family support network that makes this plausible. I'm at loss and stressed thinking about this being the end of what I worked so hard to achieve. Anyone have any advice or similar first hand experience?

I can't offer up any advice as far as working as a nurse in Europe and the opportunities there. I can say that even if you have to take a complete 4 year hiatus, it is "just" 4 years - it sucks, but your career isn't over. You can pick back up.
