The Dreaded Day Before NCLEX

Published

Is anyone else taking NCLEX tomorrow as well? Or remembers what today feels like? I'd love to chat with some of you. I had my third NCLEX nightmare and am feeling like my mind is blank this morning. Some people recommend that we don't study today, but I think I need to for peace of mind. Tomorrow at 2 seems like it's minutes away at some points, then weeks away at others.

Wishing you the best

Thank you!! :)

Good luck! I took mine yesterday so absolutely I remember what the day before felt like. I just wanted to get it over. I did the opposite of what everyone says and I did some LIGHT review, lab values, read over my med flash cards, etc. Try to spend some time relaxing though too. If you don't already know it, you won't learn it but for me, it never hurts to refresh a little. Even if just to make myself feel better going in.

I got to the testing center an hour and a half before my appointment because I was worried about traffic but they went ahead and let me start at 10 instead of 11:30. It shut off at 75 questions. Do yourself a favor and do some deep breathing before you walk through that door. I was SO nervous that I was literally shaking for the first 8-10 questions. I feel good about it though. I was an A student through nursing school and I got a lot of application type questions so I feel I was above passing.

Your next hurdle, other than the test itself is the waiting afterward. It feels like forever!

GREAT advice! I'm definitely studying some today. My last 3 weeks of studying has mainly consisted of doing questions, so I figured I'd brush up on some content (mainly just looking over notes from the live review I attended at the end of May). One of my closest nursing buddies took the test this morning; her test shut off at 75q and she's feeling pretty good about it. Hopefully I'll have the same story to share tomorrow! If I could do this month over, I would've focused more intensely on content, since I'm feeling a bit shaky on that now. Still, I finished over 2,000 questions, so hopefully that'll be enough.

Sending you all the good vibes during your waiting period! I hope you do something fun today to get your mind off it!

I don't know that I've ever experienced anxiety levels quite this high. Yowza!

Mine is tomorrow at 8am! Good luck!! I'm nervous... did some retail therapy this afternoon. Haha. Going to study a bit tonight- just look over a few things like labs so they're fresh in my mind. I feel like I know absolutely nothing today! But one of my friends who took it already said I shouldn't worry and ill do fine. AHHH!!! I think the hardest things are the day before the test, and the day after!!

A little update on my day before - my eardrum is perforated and my cat peed on my bed. Needless to say, I didn't study for long. Really l]hoping today goes well, despite my being able to hear out of only one ear!

Good luck! I'm sitting here wishing time would hurry up and go by faster so my quick results get posted...
