about my job...I think it is when I have a chance to just sit and chat with the kids. I am feeling pretty rotten today (migraine and out of sick days for the year, plus they are re-doing the carpet in the main office next door and the smell of the adhesive has me ready to hurl), but just having a few moments to talk to a student about everyday stuff can make the day a little better. Chatting about cousin's new puppy, or their new baby sister, or whatever, just makes me realize what great kids these are, even though some days they really try my patience!
On a funny note, I had a student in my office earlier waiting for mom to pick her up for a tummy ache. Mom knew she had been constipated and was going to take her home and give her a lax (she is on protocol for this from her PCP). Student overheard me talking to mom about the possible cause of her tummy troubles. When I got off the phone, she offerred "I did fart a few times...maybe that's a clue!" I assured her, yes, that was certainly a clue! It is good to have a job that I love, even when I feel this crummy.

it's good that you can still find a few good moments in your day even when you don't really feel like looking for them. hope you feel better - migraines are the pits
