Hey guys!
So it finally happened! I got offered two different interviews today at a rather prestigious hospital. I am really excited and nervous. However, I have an issue. I have a beard.
It is nothing big...not Duck Dynasty level or anything...and it was never a problem during clinicals.
However, I want to put my best foot forward in this interview. What are your thoughts? Should I shave the beard...or keep it for the interview?

1. This is based on an assumption that there is policy on beards. Of course, whatever is on the policy should be followed. 2. Anyone who would rather avoid a rebuttle than hire the most qualified candidate is a poor manager and should be in a role where they hire employees. 3. Any candidate that spews about their rights to have a beard in breach of policy is a dickhead and shouldn't have the job.1. I'm not sure about the 'few' judgement. So, it would depend if the employer has an actual policy on facial hair, yes? There is typically policy about; long hair, jewelry, finger nails and nail polish are not gender specific. That point is moot.
If it is in the policy and you must still go through crap to get that employee to abide by it, they are NOT the most qualified candidate. What other policies would they also ignore?

Really? I must explain the importance of cleanliness and covering as it pertains to surgical procedures? Don't your hospital have this for your OR staff? Even without facial hair there are certain standards or common sense things.
My hospital required me to shave for the N95 fit test but I'm allowed to have a beard provided its kept neat and clean. For the interview, as long as you look professional it wont matter. If its against hospital policy, they will just tell you you would have to shave it and if your okay with that.
