Happy Thanksgiving

Hi Tweety

NJ22 we might get a little snow for Thanksgiving

Ado I hope you can rest a bit now

Dianah hope you sleep better tonight

Started work early, went to lunch late and cut it short.  Things got crazy with some of the extra work I had to do for the person who was out, but by the end of the day things finally calmed down.  As expected no new cases. Was a bit tiring but got through it

Rest of the day was calm.  Stopped at the grocery store and at the library.  Not as busy in the stores, and not as much traffic as yesterday

Today will do some bird watching early.  Then will drive to my cousin's for Thanksgiving.  Should be a small crowd, only 7 people, since my sister and family will be at her mother in law's.  Rest of the day should be quiet, will watch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving as usual

Will be cold again today, in the low 30s with some flurries

Good morning!  Happy Thanksgiving.

Joe, hope you have a good day.

Ado, hope you slept well and have energy for the day.

Stars, so sorry things got you in a funk.

Again was able to get to sleep earlyish and up early.  Hopefully will get to get at the usual time for work tomorrow.

Already did some meal prep for lunches the next couple of days.  Made it Low FODMAP I think and hopefully it will be enough.  I'm more hungry on this diet and it's not a weight loss diet.  I just don't think the portion sizes are a one size fits all.  I made chickpea pasta with ground turkey and pasta sauce.  I was hungry before I went to bed and had to eat again.

I'm thankful I have good on the table.

Happy T-Bird Day! Haven't heard a word from the iL's or the neighbor, so we may be eating something from the fridge and give thanks for that!  Nannie's been up for two hours, fiddling with the sleeves of her sweater and showing them to me. (gee, wow.) She told me,  "I don't feel good." But me asking, "HOW don't you feel good?" elicits another demonstration of her sweater sleeves. I said, "No, what does not feel good? Are you sick to your stomach? Do you feel like you need to have a BM?" She said, "I don't know." Everything I specified in my questions was not what it is making her feel 'not good.' I told her if she couldn't tell me WHY or HOW she doesn't feel good, I can't really help her to feel better. She indicated something about the outdoors or the back yard. I told her we weren't going out because it is only 43 degrees and the breeze feels like an icy knife, and the Senior Center is closed today. Right now she can't decide whether to keep her eyes closed or open. I turned on the electric fireplace, hoping the quiet hum and the heat will soothe her savage nerves. I have half a mind to go upstairs and nuke my leftovers from last nights supper; maybe that will be a clue to the universe to make the iL's show up with food, or a phone call from the neighbors. Maybe. Well, Tinker's head just popped up, and she is staring at or through the back glass door, so I wonder if that means someone rolled into the driveway and under the carport? Can't see that side of the house from the den, so if someone walks around to the back door, that's the only way I can tell if someone is here. But I suspect no one is here. I really wish Nannie would slide off into a nice nap. I'd certainly give thanks for THAT!

SiL just called and said her mother was being sent back to the facility from the hospital. They go to the cardiologist tomorrow morning as a follow up and SiL can hear what he has to say about whatever it is that's going on. She said she knew I was not interested in going out to their house to 'celebrate', but tomorrow is when they are going to do the Thanksgiving meal anyway, with her dgt, son-in-Law, grand-dgt. BiL will come pick up Nannie around noontime. and they'll keep her for a few hours. w00t! So now that I told Nannie that her Thanksgiving Day will take place tomorrow.....maybe she will sleep a little? I hope so. Uh-oh, unfortunately she is just staring at her shoes right now, and I am a'feared there is going to be another "Look" and "See" about those shoes. To forestall any shoe or clothing commentary from her, I will go up and nuke my leftovers!

Rested well, worked in the kitchen some more, and now we are all full and indeed thankful. You all are among the many things I am grateful for.

I spilled tea on my phone and it still has some spots. I'll take care of it after my nap.😴

Several hours later and Nannie is still arranging and rearranging the front of her sweater, and the cuffs, and her hands in her pockets.....over and over and then over again. Then she looks up at me and goes, "WHEW!" like it wears her out to do that. I'd say she is obsessed, but she doesn't have enough functioning brain cells to maintain an obsession. She's being perseverative as all get out! Wants the front panels of the sweater to go down to her knees and when one side doesn't exactly meet and match the other side. she's going back at it all over again. If she could sit there and do that all the time without me being present in the same room, that'd be a wonderful thing; but she can't be trusted not to get on another track, such as scooting her butt over onto the footrest, and being half out of the chair. But. Lord have mercy, now she is focusing on her feet, because the blue shoes don't exactly match the blue socks, the navy blue pants or the blue cardigan.  OY!

Where is there a soft sledge hammer when you need one? I could use it on me, if it was considered elder abuse to use it on her. Then, conked out, I wouldn't have to go through this suffocating, brain-deadening 'job' for a little while, anyway.

I'm thankful that my urges to stop her cold in her current activities.....is well under physical control.....but mentally, she's a'killin' me!  When SiL asks me again what I want for Christmas, I'm going to say that having Nannie go elsewhere for a week would be a HUGE present for me! And she won't even need to put a bow on it!
