Members are discussing the etiquette of sending a thank you email after a job interview, with suggestions ranging from keeping it short and sweet to including specific details from the interview. The original poster later updates that they have been selected for a position on the medical-surgical floor, receiving congratulations from other members.
Say something nice even if you don't mean it.
Take me as kidding or not, brandnewRN.
Of course the run of the mill thank you is a good opener. Perhaps a high point of the interview to specifically keep you the interviewer's mind. And then close it with something like I'm looking forward to hearing from you on your decision, blah blah blah.
Congratulations on experiencing your first nursing interview and I wish you the best of luck in your pursuits, brandnewRN!
I've always kept thank you emails short and sweet, something along the lines of
"Thank you for taking time to meet with me today. I appreciated learning more about the position/mission statement/hospital system (whatever). If you need any additional information contact me at (800) 867-5309.
I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
Sincerely,
Me."

Hello,
I had an interview yesterday. First interview in my job hunt as a new RN. What should I say in a thank you email? Is there a norm that I should follow or are hiring managers OK with a simple thank you email?
