Thailand Nurse Practitioners

Which hospital? And how is your Thai? Unless you are planning to do it at one of the private hospitals, you will find it hard with the language.

In Bangkok, you have possibilities, but outside of the major cities, you are going to find major difficulties.

If you need info on any of the hospitals there, please let me know.

Wondering if you ended up in Thailand. We are interested in nursing for our high school daughter. Does Thailand have nurse practitioner like in US (I am from Thailand but live in US)?

Several of my nieces are nurses there and one of them run a rural clinic that I had visited in Lopburi. She only has a BS not master degree.

A recruiting service contacted me several months back regarding an opportunity at private Singapore Hospital. I know it's not Thailand, but it's in the area.

Yes, they have NP's. I think most are in the rural areas. We did wind up moving there. I came back last year to work. My wife is still there although further north as she had to evacuate our place in Bangkok.

@zenmen - How does your wife like it there (is she Thai btw), and the pay is good?

@TXRN - Singapore is a very good place to work - better pay too I assume. Do you hold a master and NP license from US to work as an NP there, or just do RN work?

I never worked there as it's not like the states where you walk across the border and go to work! I never worked there because I could never learn the language to pass any nursing exams. My wife has a work permit to work there as a teacher. My wife is also from the USA. She is ready to come home after 3 years.
