I cannot believe I can say, "I'm a fourth semester student!" Last summer I told people "I just finished first and I am going into second" because I was too afraid to claim the title I worked so hard to earn! I do not have that problem now!

I passed clinical, my exams, and all of the extra stuff thrown at me a the last minute this semester!!! Third Semester was BRUTAL!!!!!!!!!!!! Student Nurses having to repeat or be disciplined happened throughout this semester. I am soooooooo glad I will never ever have to go through 3rd semester again! :bow:

Can anyone see the light at the end of the tunnel? Nurses told me it will be blinding in fourth! I saw a small flicker while entering 3rd. My guess is I need to destress a tad bit and I will start to see the blinding light.

Good luck everyone!! Maybe we can start an accountability thread some time this summer? We can be accountable for such things as our advanced reading list, NCLEX review, and learning and relearning meds? Just a thought.... Now I am off to decompress! :zzzzz

I have 2 finals down and 1 to go (tomorrow). I agree with you MBA2BRN that 3rd semester is brutal. I am so glad its almost over.

I agree MBA2BRN

I will be doing a extern this summer to reinforce skills and learn as much as i can in the clinical setting. Im also reading saunders, taking the hurst review and doing as many questions as i can (without going crazy :banghead: ).

But i do plan on having fun, this summer WILL NOT be all work and no play!!! :yeah: :nurse: :yeah: :nurse: :yeah: :nurse:

So glad 3rd semester is over & done! I do have to say it was hard but I feel I learned a lot...or rather it all seemed to just come together: knowledge+skills+putting it into clinical practice. I love being able to say to my fellow students: "SEE YA' IN 4th SEMESTER!!!

I'm thrilled to be starting 4th semester!

What's a good (marketable) focus area for capstone? I'm undecided and getting nervous--we'll be back in class before ya know it.

I was initially interested in public health nursing, but am now thinking that a capstone at a health dept. may not look good to anyone but a public health agency once I've graduated. Seems most students are wanting to do ICU. Any thoughts on this?
