Happy 4th of July

Tweety that was nice of you to take him out

NJ22 that's cool that you grow blueberries

Dianah sounds like a nice day

Was a busy morning yesterday for  me.  Usual laundry and church and cooking.  Larger than expected crowd for church.   The afternoon was quiet, J was still not feeling well, so we'll try to get together sometime during the week.  Was going to ride my bike but it was too warm

Had some difficulty sleeping for the first 2 to 3 hours, probably due to the fireworks.  Though I was feeling slightly off during the day, wonder if I was starting to develop a migraine,  which  also can affect sleep.  Got up, put in earplugs, read a bit, by then the fireworks stopped and I was able to sleep normally.  Will  try and put the earplugs in as soon  as I go to bed tonight and see if that helps

Today have nothing going on except some bird watching this morning

Will be warm, up to 90, with rain later in the day

Happy 4th of July!

Joe, hope you get a better night's sleep tonight.

I saw Dianah liking a post on facebook and I was thinking "it's 4AM there so she much not be sleeping well".  Sleep is an issue for a lot of us.

I've been to the gym and grocery store.  Going to cook an Asian noodle dish and a chickpea and tomato stew.   I couldn't sleep well myself and might take a nap but that ruins the night's sleep.  We'll see how I feel.

Otherwise going to stay in.  My phone said it was 87 degrees with a "feels like of 96".  Definitely felt hot.

Have a great day!

Yup, Tweety.  Slept till 1:15 then awake till 5 or so.  Oh well.

Happy Fourth of July!!  Temp predicted to be only 88 today, which is a nice change from 103!  Heading out to the grocery store to get a few things.  We will meet oldest ds at 5:30 for dinner at El Torito, a family favorite.  Not fancy or dressy, but we all can find something there to eat, and it's familiar. ?

Have a good day!

I wrote today's post on yesterday's entry.

I sent a card to amoLucia a week or so ago, but haven't heard anything from her, and the card has not been returned, so I don't know anything about what's going on w/ her.  I had tried calling, but the answering system she has on her phone requires the caller (me) to redial her number, and when I did , a computer voice said something to the effect that the number I entered was incorrect or something. If I find out anything, I'll let y'all know.

Another, gray overcast day, with a few sprinkles of rain, in the mid 60s. We were supposed to go to the local minor league baseball game last night, courtesy of our investment manager, but we both forgot. Plus it was threatening rain.We played mini-golf today, which was fun.We didn't add the scores, but I got a couple of birdies and some bogeys too. I took some cold medicine to dd for her COVID cough and congestion, and some test kits for her boys who are staying with their dad. Dh is getting ready to grill some steaks and corn on the cob.

Stars, your hubby might like tempura. It's deep fried chicken or shrimp or vegetables and its not spicy. my hubby is afraid of spicy so he will get one star spiciness Pad Thai and really likes it. But yeah, I get what you mean about feeling pressured to choose the meal. I could eat PB&J most nights and be content.

The firecrackers and whistling things are going off, and there were some mortars last night. It will be really noisy tonight, I'm sure, but the latest ordinance says it must stop at midnight. We will watch the big show from Seattle on TV.

I'm resolved to go the used book store tomorrow. I've got several to turn in that I get credit for, and then turn around and spend it plus some. I like the idea that someone else will read the same books I did. I'm going to look for some more Ken Follett and Maeve Binchy. And maybe Phillipa Gregory.

Wish I could find a used book store around here, with that option to buy and then sell back the books you bought to read, so you can buy more.

We are mid rain-delay in the ball game; It was 6-0 our favor, but it had to stop at the end of the 4th inning because of the rain. Just now they said the rain has slowed down to a drizzle but that there is still a lot of lightning around, so they aren't ready to resume play yet.

Well, here's some more Nannie stuff:

Okay, her brain is slipping again, more. The guy who is the Brave's announcer, Chip Caray....according to Nannie, went to her church, and made a pass at her once. (He lives in Atlanta and has never gone to her church, needless to say.)

THEN, the guy who does yardwork for us came over to talk to hubby and he came to the back door to get some more ice cubes for his cup of water. No biggie. He knew we were in here, and he came and knocked. I felt bad because I opened the door only part way, and didn't say 'come on in'. I just told him hubby had just gone out to the front and I'd bring his ice-cubes to him out front. Of course the minute I closed the door, Nannie told me he was the man who comes out to our back yard all the time; "He's the guy that wants me." ?Three or four times this evening she has said that.  She has said the same thing about several other guys, previously. But it is getting worse.

She also thinks that when the TV is on, and she  sees the reflection of the TV in the glass door she sits next to, she thinks there are some men out in the yard, near the fence, a spot she could not see unless she got up and opened the door, but she insists they are watching the TV out there. Somehow she seems to think they are taking advantage of us, like, maybe they don't have their own TV so they come over here to watch it? Well,  even though I showed her how it's only a reflection, now what we have to do is close the drapes. ?

Even with the neighbors setting off fire-crackers tonight, she thinks they are doing it in OUR back yard. She doesn't care if it's the 4th of July, she doesn't want them out back! Hubby told her she was just going to have to tolerate it because he can't shut the neighborhood down on this Holiday. I have half a mind to make her get up and come out the back door with me, but I won't. I'm just tired of hearing how all these men are doing this stuff to get her attention.

WHEW!
