Texas Woman's University - Fall 2017 Weekend/Evening Program

Published

Hello Everyone! I'm starting this page for those of you applying next February for the Texas Woman's University Fall 2017 Weekend/Evening program. I've searched and searched for a thread for this particular program and I haven't been able to find one yet. I am hoping that we can all come together on this page for support and camaraderie.

I am currently studying to finish up my prerequisites. This semester I am taking statistics, psych lifespan and development, Intro to literature and A&P I. As of right now, I will come out with a 4.0 for the semester. I will then only have A&P II and Micro left and if I get As there I will have a 4.0 for my science GPA. I plan on taking the TEAS V in December but I want to begin studying in August. (There is a new version coming out then so I've decided to wait for that. Calculators will be allowed during testing.) I'm shooting for a 90 or above composite score. From reading other threads on this forum, I have gathered that TWU is very competitive.

A little about me: I work full time as a Business Analyst at Samsung Electronics. Nursing will be my third, and hopefully final, career change. Prior to Samsung I was in the Navy. I have been working on my prereqs for the past year and a half and it has all felt very rewarding. I can't wait to start nursing school and continue this journey into my new life as an RN.

I hope to hear from some other 2017 hopefuls so we can continue this journey together. If you are a traditional program hopeful, feel free to post here as well. I have done some very in depth research on entrance requirements so I if you have questions for me feel free to ask. I'm sure I have an answer.

You probably got them as a kid but they will need a record of them.

So the titre would be the best route. Thank you so much!!! You're such a life saver!!!

Yes, and I just confirmed that as long as the titer is positive you are good to go.

Oh goodness, I haven't even thought about vaccinations yet. I'll go search around the website and start getting things in order. Thanks!

Happy Sunday guys!

I read on another thread that TWU sent out some sort of a notification email. Just curios, did anybody get it and if so, can y'all post a photo of it if that's okay?

Thanks! The wait is getting on my nerves!

Omg. So if I didn't get one, does that mean I didn't even qualify? í ½í¸±

No, that's not what it means at all. It just means they haven't gotten to your application yet to process it. :) You can always make an appointment to speak with an advisor just to ease your mind.

Ooh gurl thank you! I hope they get to it soon haha- I feel like I'm stuck on this limbo unsure on what I'm supposed to to do next! :)

I am putting in my scores but not getting the bs bump or anything for my TEAS scores, what am I doint wrong?

Nevermind I figured it out.

TEAS 87.3

TWU score 58.07

Heather said we would get the shot notification information when we got our acceptance packet. Where are yall finding the information for that?

Hello Stew. It looks like you have a pretty good shot of getting in. Good luck!

I was able to find immunization information at the below link. I hope this helps.

I am thinking about applying to this program and during my initial meeting, the advisor informed me i would get "higher consideration" for taking my prerequisites with TWU. Is it worth it? I am thinking about doing my prereqs at collin county community college because of the cost savings.
