Thank you guys so much for answering all our questions. It really helps!

Besides tuition and the books, did you guys have any big ticket or unexpected expenses?

I have a similar concern. I'm currently trying to budget and save money, especially because I might need to leave my job if I get accepted. Since I rely solely on my income, I'm worried about managing expenses beyond just tuition and books. Are there financial aid options available besides scholarships, such as grants or other forms of assistance that you know of? I've considered the 2-year program as well to manage a job on top of school for my living expenses, but if I can make it work, I rather complete the 1-year program. Thanks in advance!

I receive a few scholarships from TTUHSC every semester (1500-3k so far), and then my FAFSA loans cover the rest. Obviously, it is an investment but I will be able to pay back most, if not all of the loans within my first year of working. I think I paid for books out of pocket in the beginning of the program. On top of that, it's your normal living expenses but nothing really extra for school. You need some startup supplies like scrubs, a reliable laptop, etc., but I can't really think of any other expenses. Sadly, I don't know of any other grants or aid options, but they may be out there. I just think of the investment it is and the job security you will have at the end.

I didn't qualify for scholarships because my amount of aid given by FASFA was too low, but I still tried to apply! I paid some out of pocket and some with FASFA loans. No big expenses besides the books.

I wouldn't start studying now. Enjoy your time off and start once the program begins. I bought flashcards (pharm and med surg) from LevelUpRN which a bunch of us in Dallas bought. Super helpful.

The Dallas campus is amazing. All of us get along well, everyone wants to help each other. There are 42 of us 🙂

I had a 4.0 GPA for pre-reqs, 3.8 overall GPA, about 8-9 years of medical experience, volunteer experience, and study-abroad as well.

Also, don't let my intense studying scare any of you! I am applying to NP school immediately and definitely do not have the "75 to pass" mindset.

You will all do great! It's really not bad!

Hey y'all! Does anyone know when we might expect to hear back on whether or not we've been accepted into the 2025 ABSN program?

OK, thanks!

Hello all,

So we are currently in the midst of the waiting game right? Initial application submitted by July 15th, video interviews submitted, and just waiting for the next step?

Hey, yes we're currently in that waiting phase. Hopefully we hear something back pretty soon?

I have read all the previous posts from 2024, 2023, and 2022. It seems like the general response window was around late September. I will say though that they seemed to request the video interviews sooner for this application process than previous years, so possibly moving the process along quicker, but this is just my assumption. However, it doesn't sound like they always provided rejection letters. I am curious on that. If I do end up being rejected, it would be nice to know the reason or how I might be able to increase my chances for the future.

Oh OK, I thought it was just a guess as well. That is good news. Relief will come soon!
