Hello all, just wanted to start a thread for those of us applying for the Fall 2014 cohort of the RN - BSN program at TTU. I applied a few days ago even though I don't graduate from my ADN program until May. I finished all my pre-reqs for them this summer and just couldn't wait!
I did received a strange email today though... they said they received my transcripts and that I needed nearly every pre-req class to apply for their program. I already sent off for them to evaluate my unofficial transcripts a few months ago and was given the 'all clear' that I had all classes needed. Strange! Not to mention there is no way they could have received my official transcripts from school seeing as how they JUST got back to work today after the holiday. Anyone else get an email like that? I wonder if it's worth replying to or just waiting a week or two.
Anyway, good luck to all whether you are finishing your last semester like me or are already a working RN. :)
I'm doing the 2 semester plan. It's cheaper and with all the writting in this program I think I'll be fine... I'm not a test take but I can whip up a paper easily
Hi All, I'm leaning toward the 3 semester plan since it will only be 3 extra months with the Summer semester. What makes the 2 semester plan cheaper? Is it fees because the tuition would be the same. Just curious. Also, the background check said it would be $43.50 but ended up costing $51. Was that the same for you all too?
yes, the background check was $51 for me also. But I already got the results. The orientation wasn't too bad to get through, either. Now, it is my understanding that august 1 they will send the book list and register us for classes, is that the case, or should we register ourselves?
I have started the orientation and finished the background check. I received the results less than 24 hours later. As for registering I am not sure how that works, but then again, I haven't finished all of the orientation. I am a bit nervous about all the hours but hopefully it will not be too bad. I do not have a job yet so am going to dive in head first with the 2 semesters plan. If I was starting a residency this month I would probably do the 3 semester plan. If I somehow get offered a residency (as a few have become open again) I would be in heaven! I passed my nclex a few weeks ago so I am hoping having my license will help. I really am praying for a job! It is so tough here in DFW.
Did anyone start a Facebook page? I can try to if no one has. I am not sure it is allowed to post a link to it here but we can search Facebook by name. I would love to stay in contact as we start this new journey!

I was too scared to do the 3 semester plan, lol! Good luck ya'll, I have a teenager and a full time job, so I think 9 hours is plenty :) I'd like to join a facebook page, if anyone starts one, just post the name in this thread, we can look it up.
Hi all, I'm going to do the three semester plan since I am in Residency until November. I wonder if we can speed up any if we find that we can handle more classes?
Did you all already submit the intent to graduate form? I got an email saying my orientation is incomplete though it didn't say what was missing. I double checked and the only thing I didn't submit was the graduation form... It seems premature to me to submit it now but I will.
