Hello Guys!!I just wanted to create a new thread for the 2013 Texas tech BSN program! I will be applying this December (El Paso) campus. Is anyone else?

I am so excited and hopefully in the near future I can meet you all!

Hey there! I'm an Odessa admit, from what I've heard from a current student in the program odessa campus only admits 25 students at a time. Sooo thts why u don't see many folks on this forum going to Odessa bcz there aren't very many of us accepted there to begin with. They may be going up to 40 admits this semester but he wasn't for sure if tht decision had been finalized by the school. Truth be told, I'm really considering givin up my spot for this fall at Odessa bcz of the cost of living as far as housing goes out there... I don want to hv to work excessive hours n I don't want to drown in student loans tht ill hv to borrow over the next two years... I should hv done my research abt the different locations before I just selected randomly bcz had I have known what i know now,odessa would never have been an option for me...if it was a shorter program like abilines I cld deal with the unreasonable cost of living or if hey had student housing options then I mean tht would make it more bareable but $900 and up for a beat up one bedroom is ridiculous! If I found 2 roommates to share a 3bdr with then maybe so but then again a 3bdr wld probably cost us $1800 in Odessa! Lol I'm laughing but I really don't find it funny at all!

I'm not in your position as I got accepted to Abilene...but PLEASE do not give up because of location!! You have no idea how hard it was for me to get accepted into schools because of my teas score. & although I don't know you. I couldn't stand knowing that location stopped your dreams. The #s that your speaking of are absolutely ridiculous and are a little extreme!!! But to do & it just get over it... I would think you would be happy & have it worth while @ the end! 2 years & your done! Aaaaannddd the smaller the class the better. That's a benefit! A great benefit! I do understand financial bumps as I have no idea how I'm going to pay for an apartment at $500 a month. i won't be working. I hope the best for you!! & I really pray that everything works out for you & your journey :D

wow!!! so many people this year at the abilene campus!!! this nursing year is going to be awesome!!! VALJENNINGS where did you find the abilene calendar?, lol i found it like 2 days ago on my phone and now i dont remember where it is...lol

Like kierra said, I am not in your position..but one thing i've realized is that getting into nursing is ridiculously getting HARDER AND HARDER. Year by year they are making it competetive, this is funny because recently I read somewhere that by 2017 or 18 there's going to be 18,000 shortage of nurses hahahah!! really you would think they would want to accept more nursing students..lol but noooo!! anyways I just want you to know that i would like for u to just rethink your thoughts i know its a bin overwhelming with those prices. I could also probably suggest you to ask the coordinator if your able switch campuses? maybe they can do something based on your situation. But truly i WISH U THE BEST in all your decisions. :)
