Texas Tech Traditional BSN Fall 2012

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I'm totally new to this and I am amazed at all the information this web site provides! Is anyone else on here going to be applying for the TTU Traditional Nursing Program for the Fall 2012 semester? Also, I need to take intro to nursing and pathophysiology this Spring. Is it best just to take it at Tech? Any input would be most helpful! :D

Thanks! Congrats to YOU as your first step in becoming a nurse! how exciting that must be... :)

Hi ELOVE10

I hope to hear soon from El Paso TT, but it makes me nervous to hear that 140 applied to El Paso and only 40 are being accepted.....I hate this feeling of not knowing :(

Hopefully I'll be goog news!

Hi ELOVE,

Yea, I know, it's hard to keep waiting, especially when others have already been accepted!! Did you apply to any other schools? If you don't mind me asking do you any volunteer hours or work experience? It makes me so nervous that only 40 get accepted and there were so many applicants this year. Hopefully we'll know soon, it drives me crazy, every email I get I check right away, hoping that it will be TT, LOL.

I totally agree with you on this feeling... hows your gpa and work experience by the way?

I see all these high GPA'S and I see mine and it makes me second guess myself. Ughh, but i heard that people been getting in with 2.5's and 3.0's so it makes me feel a bit better....Hopefully we get accepted!

Trust me we are on the same page! I have never checked my e-mail so many times in my life lol. I only applied at TT hopefully i will get in, if not I will complete LVN and apply again. What's your plan? Those that have been accepted are from Abilene and Lubbock. I have not heard from El Paso's campus yet. That is what is killing me,... i have none.(experience) what about you?

Margreen01,

I don't have any work experience or volunteer hours, so it makes me so nervous because TTU looks at that stuff. But I do have an overall GPA of 3.83, and a 4.0 in my science classes. Yea don"t worry if your GPA isn't that high because there are are others who got in with GPA's in the low 3.0's. What is your work experience like? Have you already taken the intro to nursing and patho?

Margreen01,

That makes me feel a whole lot better because, I don't have any experience either, but a lot of people from El Paso in my Intro to Nursing class have volunteer hrs., or have a CNA, or work experience in healthcare, that's what makes me nervous because the competition is tough! Hopefully we'll find out soon!!!

Well let's just hope they do no overlook our application!

Let me know when ya'll here of anything!

You told me that didn't you? Sorry! Study brain, haha? Yes, it is always nice to talk with someone who has 'been there done that'! And thanks for sharing the information! I am planning on being in town in June when some of my family can help me house hunt. Depending how papers and approvals go I'd like to be settled by July, because I don't want to cut things to close to school starting and not feel ready. Wow, I am moving 8 away. Crazy!

I am hoping we get our formal acceptance email in the next week or so?! Did you get an email today from Tech nursing saying that it might take awhile for the official offer? Ohh and I am working on doing an advising appointment so if that pans out I will let you know how that goes!! BAH so exciting! Now I have to look into scholarships and financial aid... :lol2: Still waiting to hear back from UTA and midwestern.. So we shall see!

I'm currently a junior right now

Hey there! How are you liking the program thus far? (Are you at the Lubbock campus)? How often do classes meet and do you think you are getting enough clinical experience? Any info is greatly appreciated! Thank You so much :)

Hi annapr07

I don't have work experience either or volunteer hrs relating to Nursing, my GPA I think is 3.5. If I don't get accepted I think I'll apply for Health Informatics or something related to the medical field. If I get in I'll be taking Intro to nursing and Patho this summer, what about you?
