Is it too early to start one? I couldn't find one. Maybe too early?
I am planning on applying to the TT 2nd degree BSN program in May in hopes to begin in January 2017.
Anyone else?? Anyone in the program currently or recently have any info to share??
Thanks!!
I found a place in Dallas called Advanced Healthcare Career Institute. The guy says it's $400 for everything and they have classes in the morning and the evening Monday-Thursday. I won't be able to register until the end of this month because of summer class I'm currently taking, though. Does anyone have an idea of where to get a medical terminology certificate?
@future.rn.bsn I also just recently discovered that place. I might go with it. I am just finishing up my Medical Terminology course online at McLennan Community College, but it's located in Waco---and the professor requires that you take the mid term and final either at MCC testing center in Waco, or have a proctor at a nearby community college. So it might not be ideal if you don't want to go into a physical campus. BUT---I was going through old emails with TTUHSC (from 2015) and they actually provided a link for a medical terminology course! And it's only $8.50 I think!!! What a steal! Here's the link Medical Terminology & Abbreviations . They say to complete the "E-Learning Modules, 1 Learner / 1 Certificate: Medical Terminology.iBut you might want to contact them and see if this is still a recommendation because again---this was from 2015. =)
Hey guys! That's so exciting that you are receiving interview invitations!! I am currently in the program. Just FYI for those who haven't taken the CNA class, you don't have to take the test and become certified. You only have to take the class...something I didn't know until I was already in and had taken the test. I would probably double check that, but I have several classmates who only took the class.
The interview is very laid back. They want to know a little about you and your personality. I don't remember the exact questions, but they are on several of these forums. They ask about why you want to be a nurse, what your support system looks like, how you manage stress, etc. Personally, I stressed about my outfit. Business suits are a good choice.
Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi @colleenb.coop! I took my CNA class through CE Global health in Garland. It is about 4-5 weeks and was about $500 + book, which was about $20. They also offer payment plans. They have morning classes and evening classes and they're flexible to work with your schedule.
I am applying for the Dallas cohort and received an interview as well! Best of luck :)
